Turning off game message spam

Post by kfoelsch »

Hi. I'd like to be able to turn off the following messages once I get into a game:

1. Offers of protection
2. Slow construction messages
3. Pirate attack messages

There may be more that I can't think of at the moment. I've been looking around, but I haven't found how / where to do this yet.

Another thing that would be nice would be to be able to auto renew smuggling missions while there are still resource shortages going on.

Thanks for your help!

The construction messages are especially annoying on mining/research stations because their is not much you can do to fix it.  At least at a colony you can order (and as you mentioned), and reorder smuggling missions.  With a large empire, you get so many of these popups, that you don't even see things like colony gained (or lost), forcing you to hit the H button and review it.

Anyway, I share your questions, and agree with your post.

Another subset of pirate spam... If you have a new colony you're trying to prevent getting overrun by pirates... almost always you have to smuggle in resources. Sometimes you manage to build that defensive base. Sometimes, it gets blown up in the process of construction. Particularly if it gets blown up, a whole bunch of freighters can get boarded by the pirates on what turn out to be suicide missions. It would be nice if the AI would be smarter about not suiciding your freighters...
