If you are running down acts of bravery under extreme conditions, you can't forget EE Evans and the USS Johnston. The DD traded shots with the Kongo at the Battle Off Samar. They were firing so much they ended up firing paint rounds (practice) at the Kongo because they were out of everything else.

Heh, it was a LONG time since I listened to that one. Still have the LPs somewhere in the attic. Thanks for the reminder [:)]

Grollub,

This one may be more up your alley for top ten fighting ships. [;)]

That picture looks like it came from an ad for Norwegian cheese or something.

Hi all,
ORIGINAL: Dixie

Browsing through my Kindle collection earlier I came across another nomination. If you want a ship that fought hard, right to the last despite the odds being against her and her crew....

HMS Ulysses [&o]

I would love properly done movie "HMS Ulysses"... [&o][&o][&o]

Leo "Apollo11"

P.S.
I would also love properly done movie "The Bomber" by Len Deighton as well... [&o][&o][&o]
