Pilot rescued

Post by paolorossi »

Hi all,

It's 15th january 1942 and it's my 1st big campaign, so my experience is not that huge. but it happened a curious thing last day: I receive a message at end of day announcing that a pilot of mine (a Dutch) has been found. does it happen often?

Many thanks

Paolo

It's rare, but it does happen now and then. You'll probably see it several times over the course of a whole campaign.

the game will throw these very rare random events at you from time to time, a ship can suffer a 'boiler explosion' casualty, or rip its hull apart in an amphibious landing.

a more common but very bothersome 'random event' is when 2 ships in a TF collide, causing heavy damage to at least one ship, & slowing the TF's speed. It's usually a signal that the TF is too large, and often happens in massive TransportTFs, or in large Surface Combat TFs. In surface engagements, you might have a collision in your TF, reducing its speed & combat ability.

as said above they will reappear at some point (maybe days/weeks) in the general reserve or in the rare case in their last unit posting similar to what happens to WIA pilots.

If there is your submarine(s) around, it happens more often. Neat and historical feature.
