I am pretty sure the union welding crew working on C turret of USS Washington were purposely trying to annoy me so, while they were having a siesta, Washington put to sea as part of the escort force for Yorktown. Let's see if the threat of fight with 1/3rd of her main guns inoperable and them on board will "realign incentives" a bit.

British 2nd Div bound for Aparri with Yorktown and Long Island covering. There isn't a single USN airplane aboard Yorktown. [:)] They are all USMC or RAF.

The Royals at Yorktown? Isn't that a bit of an operational risk for national sovereignty? Just make sure that King George keeps his distance, will ya?

That is a good point. I hope they aren't still sore about that. After all, we did let them burn down the White House once just to make up.

These screenshots are painful to watch as a JFB :)

So now that you are in Manila what is the enemy force there? ETA on wrapping up the PI?

Also, $207k deductible for the California quake home insurance? That's insane. Might as well donate money to your local insurance company executive

I think that is just to keep the riff-raff from getting earthquake insurance. It's only for the most desirable clients - those with no kids and such.

If I recall in Alfred's dissertation on repair in The War Room, devices like turrets and radar need a certain level of base for repair. Naval Support squads and ARs or ARDs do not suffice. For 16" turrets I believe a level 8 or 9 port is needed.

So I go to one of my colleagues retirement party a while back. The guy worked till he was 85! He didn't have 3 ex wives, a huge mortgage, parasitic larvae...nothing..he just liked working.

Fun party. I gave a little talk where I remarked about his amazing equanimity. The guy didn't even complain about the *#&@(@)&$ Electronic Medical Record, medicaid patients with I-phone 5's, the government..NOTHING!

Anyway, I am getting out of sequence. Before dinner, I am at a table with a bunch of docs and this early 20-something Vietnamese woman with bleach blonde hair but quite an astounding "frame" enters the room as one of the guests. The women at the table just tear her to shreds behind her back..and these are professional women in their 30's and 40's. It was the most amazing thing. They were like a NASCAR pit crew. There was no need for central control. They all knew instinctively what to do. When one would stop for a breath the next would take over.

Now, I will admit the bleached hair and gray-green colored contacts were over the top...but...Santa Maria! There was a reason all the women went into attack mode. I tried to play along because SG was sitting next to me, even commenting about a likely drapes/carpet mismatch (sadly the old gag had to be explained to one of the docs). [:)] Anyway, after the event was over, Stardust Nguyen (made up name...don't try to Google it) came up to me and went on and on about how much she liked my talk. Now, maybe I got a few chuckles but I could tell I was being buttered up. I am trying not to look too interested because I know SG is patrolling the room. She laughs at every stupid place-occupying remark I make. It's so obvious but it feels like a James Bond movie or something because she is so...ummm...athletic-looking. The only thing missing is the clever dialogue. [:)]

Suddenly, Stardust's smile disappears...she looks over my shoulder.."Oh, you're his wife?" [:D][:D]

Oh sure...NOW you tell me. [:)] I had a feering it was something like that. Note how the "0" by the after turret is red. It makes sense because a 16 inch gun turret would need a crane the szie of Rhode Island if you had to lift the thing. .

Anyway, the welding crew may get a good look at how damage happens in the first place.

JJ has 52K wee Jap dobbers at Manira and nearly 2 1/2x the 400 AV we have there. There is no immediate hope of capturing Manira. Bataan had 42K supply when we "captured" the hex. I guarantee Manira has 100K at least. The current plan is capture Aparri. Beseige Clark and Manira.

Guess what. The Vietnamese girl at the party is an author. Not exactly the subject matter I would have imagined, either. [:)]*

Book is called Fortune Cookies.

*DO NOT TRY TO CONTACT THE AUTHOR AND TELL HER I THOUGHT SHE WAS HOT. IT'S A GAG!

Don't tell SG that you are going over to Star Dust's place to get her to autograph your "Fortune Cookie"![X(]

Wait, wouldn't SHE be the one with the fortune cookie? I'm confused. This seems to be a double entendre on top of allegory.

This is more confusing than AE ship repair rules.

I commissioned my daughter to do some sketches, graphic novel style, of events in the AAR. The first was to be The Most Interesting Man Alive holding off a Jap attack at New Edinburgh with a jeep-mounted ma deuce, shouting "Come and get me you little yellow bastards".

Here is what she has so far. Nice, but he is waaay too skinny and I don't get the horns. Plus, I don't think you sit down like that when using a jeep-mounted .50 cal. Any veterans know the answer to that question?

In fairness, it is true the rations were getting a bit thin on New Caledonia at the end.

Ah. So. "Woman who fly upside down have crack up."

Confusious say: "It is forbidden to eat yellow snow."

Inspiring stuff.

Ermmm... Is it just me but isn't that turret OK and you are just out of 16" ammo!!!
(otherwise the Number column would be red [&:])

Maybe it's the stevedores you should be talking to... Either that or someone welded over the ammo loading hatches!!! [:'(]

D'oh! Why did the front magazine reload and not the aft? Is it possible the remaining sytem damage is to the magazine, then? I will go back to the last turn and try.
