I didn't realize Sweden had a reknown for its crime fiction. Really? [&:]
"Sommaren med Monika", Ingmar Bergman, 1953. He was 19, she was 17. That's jail time in Amerika, boy. But darn, Harriet Andersson would have been totally worth it.

Don't know if I would characterize "Sommaren med Monika" as crime fiction [:)]

... but I share your sentiments concerning Harriet Andersson [;)]

Hi all,
ORIGINAL: Terminus

Sweden has a tradition of social realism in its crime fiction that stretches back several decades.

Wife and I watched several Swedish TV crime series... they were OK... the most recent ones we watched was
"Detective Inspector Irene Huss" (sometimes naive but still OK to watch)...

Per,

Just finished watching "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Interesting take on a Swedish murder mystery. What do you think of Steig's work?

I really enjoyed the movie, CB. I'm gonna make time to read the books at some point.

I can safelt, and publicly, now freely admit I'm looking forward to the Falkland Islands for four months. Because there will be some sleepless nights from January when Baby Mk2 appears. [8D]

Congratulations once again, old boy!

It's now official. We have a signed offer sheet to buy our new house! More room, less stairs with a ground floor master bedroom, and a pool! Hope to be in on July 30th.

Looks nice Mike!

Larger space ... this means you get one room of your own as the AE command center, right? [:D]

Thanks, Per! I already have "room" to play. I'm just missing that other key ingredient.... time! [:D]

Over the garage is one option, Schani. Here is an alternate option:

Nice Mike!

I hope the old house was enough to pay the new one to high degree...

Does that mean you won't need our guest room after July 30?

My collection of WWII beach items continues to grow. The bottle on the left is volcanic sand from Iwo Jima, the one on the right is beach sand from Omaha Beach in Normandy and the two "rocks" are pieces of coral from Pelileu's white beach. I plan on putting up a shelf in my office to display these and others as I collect them. If you are going to a location that has an invasion beach, please let me know. Thank you to all those that sacrificed all so that we may live in freedom in this great country!
