increased the # of Defensive mines

How does one increase the number of defensive mines at friendly ports? Does one use MLs to mine your own port? Can friendly units move through friendly minefields without risk?

The only way to lay mines is with MLs, DMs and subs regardless of them being at your base or the enemy's.

There is always a small chance that you will hit one of your own mines. This represents a mine breaking free from or dragging its mooring. Hal
