Good. I hope you can get into it. I'm always nervous about recommending games, opinions being what they are. Akin to fixing up your buddy with a girl from the office. WW1 Gold is not without its warts, one of them being an outdated tutorial, but with most of my favorite games, the good far outweigh the bad. There is much to take in on this one, but the ambiance and depth are unrivaled. IMO once again. [;)]

I received WW1 Gold yesterday and as a bonus it came with the 2008 game manual, not a big deal but certainly a plus. I look forward to playing it in the years to come!

We wish! I have always admired his work. Especially Genesis, Leviticus, and Revelation...

Indeed, I do not think the younger generation realise just what a genius (and I do not use that word lightly) that Steve Guttenberg chap really was; computer games, the Holy Bible, those incredibly* funny films....

I played it quite a bit when it was first released and yes it is quite fun. With the expansions, they offer many different locals. I loved multiplayer, but at that time there were not many multiplayer maps available. Not sure about now.

It is a beer and pretzels game with its simple click and move UI and limited actions, not that that is bad in any terms. I would also prefer a more free roaming camera instead of the fixed angle it is now. But, it is very fun and quick paced. A great game to just sit down and quickly get to the action. I think you will enjoy it as a divergence from some of the other more complex titles.

I have just recently reinstalled the game (thanks to the help of Paulo of Matrix) so if you ever want to play a multiplayer game (which is a great experience btw) just drop me a line. But I have to warn you, I'm pretty awful.

I bought it too on the deal. I'm having fun with it, will probably add an expansion or two in the future.

ooh great deals this week for those who like the Napoleonic Era - Napoleon is Italy is a freaking good game, - i found its tactical battles really nicely done
but you need to run it with some compatibility settings if you are using windows 7 at least i found that disable visual themes and desktop composition really helped, and also set fps to 8 in the game menu- then it plays good without any freezing

i bought it though a few weeks ago d'oh! but Empire in Arms i will get although it is one that probably still needs some further patching i have heard

Empires in Arms is not bad, one will need to read the tutorial at least but i like the feel and detail of it, Napoleon in Italy is superb and easy to pick up and play once the settings are right

I think that showed great foresight on their part. Its a bit like Mary having the good sense to give birth to Jesus on Christmas Day - great timing!

Hello all, for all of you who do not own John Tiller's Campaign Series, this is a bargain! This is TalonSoft's West Front, East Front, and Rising Sun. TalonSoft was the pioneer in computer wargaming and a must for any WWII gamer...I highly recommend it!

Patrick

PS. I just ordered Battlefront, sure looks good!
