Think it's been left behind when Madras fell... the unit fought bravely but the odds were against it. But we'll remember those great men[:)]

As you can see, forts don't mean a great deal under these circumstances. He's wearing out his army. The game is giving him little tidbits of optimism that are flattering only to deceive. Bombay = Stalingrad.
Yes, and binding down a great deal of units far far away from the important places.
From what i can say, the only divisions not involved in India are the 5th (At timor), the 13th (bought out recently) and moving to Palembang, the 53th at Guam and the 54th moving around in the DEI....
We'll do our best to get into the best positions for a future counterattack. His strategy is clear: invest everything in India and forget about the pacific.
RE: India again??...why always me?!!?
But we're not giving up India guys! I still have 540k supplies at Bombay and the Infantry units remain in great shape. It's still a long way to conquer it

Look how much HI he's burned in the attack already. He's basically lost a full division in destroyed squads already (probably at least 80k HI worth of stuff), and forts won't start below 1 on any attack, I'm sure. The DMS probable kills are nice for you too.

The forts will stay down cause, between Air and Naval bombings he's keeping the AF and Port damaged every day. However you're right, he's lost more than 600 squads so far during this siege and he's still far from overcoming my Odds. The fact is that the naval bombings rarely hit the Infantry troops, which have grown a lot in terms of Morale and Experience.
...and the day of the counterattack isn't that far....
RE: India again??...why always me?!!?
Massive Japanese casualties, and a position that gets exposed more and more as time goes on.
Whats not to like as a AFB?

The losses in squads are big, but what of the disabled squads? How many divisions-worth have been disabled??? [X(]

RE: India again??...why always me?!!?
At least 5 divisions worth of combat squads have been disabled since the resync.

Epic effort but doomed to fail. If he had months to burn up your supply and recover squads, maybe. But he does not. Stalingrad indeed.
Is there a path to work your counterattack cross country in a way that avoids being spotted until it's too late and you use fast moving armor to race into Bombay over all exposed hex sides? He loses the whole IJA and Bombay won't be Stalingrad, it will be Barad Dur about five minutes after the ring took a lava bath!

RE: India again??...why always me?!!?
These attacks at Bombay are just crazy, can't believe an experienced player is doing them at all. No chance to take an urban heavy hex against 2000+ enemy av with that force, he would need 5 or more times as many attacking units and still would shred 3/4 of them. Crazy, nothing but crazy.
RE: India again??...why always me?!!?
Yep, in the end he got there too late.
I would argue you have to blockade Karachi before the Aussies roll up.
The Japanese lack the firepower and the staying power for sieges.
Heroic but doomed, very Japanese

No, i don't think there's a path to arrive there unseen... but, actually, if i manage to keep my flanks safe and use those 3000 AVs now massing at Karachi to threaten his flanks i think he'll be forced to abbandon the effort... but i still need some time
RE: India again??...why always me?!!?
IMHO the next attack will show the future. Forts at 0 but it was still 1:6. If the next attack is still bad odds you should be ok. If it moves up to 1:3 or 1:2 you may have to sweat a bit. I still think your counter will force withdrawal before Bombay is seriously threatened, however.

RE: India again??...why always me?!!?
Does he have any ports close enough to keep up that bombardment pace either? I assume he's got AKEs to resupply, but that's a lot of bombardments.
RE: India again??...why always me?!!?
It looks like the key factor on his side is now: does he have enough battle worthy troops to replace the casualties? On your side the key factor is, if he does have enough troops, can your relief forces get there quickly enough?

Two quiet days. The 3 american Carriers managed to accomplish their operation near Scoodra, drawing the attention of the KB who sprinted North (burning fuel) from Colombo, just to find empty seas... kind of a psyco op[:D].
In the meanwhile the Wasp has arrived and now i have 3 CVs and 1 CVE operating in the pacific....
At Bombay he's resting...
yes, he has Goa, with lots of AKEs to be used as a replenishment port.... very close... but consider that my INF units do not get touched by his BBs...
And i'm not that far away from orchestrating the counterattack
The 27th US Division arrived at Cape Town, along with many american support units. The Whole RN is there with them.
In China he's stopped his Attacks...we may have statlemated him there...maybe!

8 Japanese CAs just bombed Bombay, causing a lot of damage, but the BBs didn't come and the regular land attack didn't happen. nstead, 28 units moved out of Bombay![X(], leaving behind 6 units for 150,000 men... i think he got way overstacked and is trying to reform his armies in the right way, under the SL rule...
However the americans, even if they aren't helping directly their british cousins in their struggle to keep India alive, aren't sitting on their hands (is this an understandable english?):
the 40th Division, along with a Marine Def unit, a base force and a marine air HQ, just landed at Tabiutea, supported by 2 SAGs, a CVTF formed around 2 CVs and several support ships. 150 mines have been already placed and the ACMs are already coming. 20 subs are screening, along with 10 PTs.
occupying the right positions.
In the North, Addak has been built up a lot, and now Attu will be transformed into a big base for subs.
At Horn Island just arrived a recon unit. Will start look around the eastern NG...
