How to unload troops?

Hello all, I am new to the game and am currently playing with all the expansions using a shipset theme that I found here on the forums (BSG shipset). I have colonized a planet, that has 2 pirate bases and my advisors suggested to attack the bases so I approved the decision, but they are not doing so well. I made a troop transport to send some reinforcements from other colonies, but cannot figure out how to unload them at the destination colony. I do have the load option available, but not one to unload. I read the manual and tried control right click and also no option to unload. Am I missing something? any help would be appreciated. The colony does not have any spaceport constructed yet.

When you have the Transport selected (info shows in lower left), if you hover your pointer over the Planet and do a CTRL Right Click, it should be in the sub menu options that come up.

You can also click on the troop transport then with it selected bring up a menu for the system by right clicking on the system containing the colony giving you a list of orders, including unload troops.

Also, the option to initiate an attack on a planetary pirate facility yourself is awkwardly placed - so you know for future reference, you go to the colonies menu, select the planet, click the facilities tab, select the pirate base, and finally hit the 'attack' button. >.<
