I have no idea what's going on

Hey guys,

Just got DW: Legends, and have been playing a few games, but to be honest, I don't really know what's going on.

I have most of the automation settings as they are when the game started.

I think I have been making a mistake colonizing rubbish planets, because when I started to find decent ones i could never get a colony ship there quick enough, and they often take ages to get built. So basicly, what do I need to do to be better at colonization?

Also, do I need to manually order construction ships to build mining facilities, resorts etc, or will they get round to it them selves?

Finally, what the hell is going on with resources? I htink they are important, but, as with every thing else, I don't really know what's going on!

tl;dr: I need a noob 101 guide!

You could try watching one of these tutorial videos, this one Let's Play DW RotS - Starting a new game is for ROTS, it should give you a rough idea of what is going on, there are other videos but they seem to be for Shadows, if there are other videos for Legends I am sure someone will post a link, failing that try a search on YouTube.

Also, you might want to look at (and maybe study/take notes) on these:

Thanks for the help guys, it#s made a big difference already. I even took a colony in a war!

Now I have the phantom pirates thing, and it's really really annoying.

Ah, the phantom pirates... very nasty... just hope they 'bother' someone else until you get a strike force fueled s and equipped and in range of (armed to the teeth...lol) their base.
