New Player Question

Hello gents
I am new to this game and thought I would ask for some advice here.
I am trying to break into operational level games as I have always been intrigued by them but afraid of them haha.
I have always played tactical level games mainly and love that level but I really want to get into operational as well.
So I have had this game for years but never took the time to learn it properly.
I want to ask for a new player what handful of scenarios would you recommend someone play and focus their time on to their head around playing an operational level game?

I have read the manual is NOT the place to start so if that is the case where would one start?
There are SOOO many scenarios its rather daunting.

Recommend that you pick a scenario that you know something about, one you might like. Play it and when you have questions do a quick search of the manual for answers. When you don't find the answer in the manual, post here and someone will gladly help.

Hey there Todd dude, welcome to TOAW, the finest inexpensive land combat simulator I've found yet. For a starter scenario it's
been traditional to do the Korean War thing. The scenario was actually made into a demo that you can download. In any case, I'm
not a traditional kind of guy so I did the Two Weeks In Normandy scenario at first. Or maybe it was Overlord '44 from the
Classic folder, I don't really remember it's been so long ago. At any rate, I agree w/ Steve that you will probably enjoy a scenario that
you know something about more than some off the wall mega-mongster like Fire In The East where you'll have to manage over
1K units of various types. Some games take quite a while to play ( six months or more ). Some scenarios you can do in an evening.
There's about 500+ different scenarios you can download and there's something for just about everybody.

And questions........people like Steve can answer any question you can ask of TOAW......me, I have to look up the answer sometimes.

I will take your advice and try the two weeks in Normandy as that is preferred AO. Well at least western front in general is.

I can recommend the Tannenberg scen for starters (from both sides), ofc it has no air (which seems kinda "broken" at the moment anyway). But I learned quite a bit from it (and it is not overhelming big).

For modern stuff the Red Thunder + The Next War is a must (soon another "modern" cold war gone hot scen will arrive [;)] It´s called Red Lightning 2)
