RE: Question
5th July 43
Carriers unknown
China
Bombed. Its amazing how those Jap bombers can kill so many with their small bombs and my bombers kill so few.
Burma
Prome, we attack the AF. Opps I let Koniu fix it. We find a bunch of Tojos. P47s go in first and get slaughtered, then the 2 P 38 sqds go in and do ok. We lose 13 P 47s and 8 P 38s for 39 Tojo IIc's, and 14 IIa's. We also lose a bunch of 2Es. 16 Blenvheins, 12 B 25C's, and 4 Wellingtons. We do score some hits on the AF. It says its at 86 damage but yesterday it said it was at 71 also. We bombard Ramree for 12 dead. What am I doing wrong?
Turk
Lots of radio traffic here. Sub sinks 2 LBs with its deck guns today. I send a sub into Turks hex to see what was home and it got DC'd. She will make it home for repairs.
Solomons
Recon shows a CV present. HMMMM whats going on here?
Radio call sign of CVE Hosho detected at 147,75. Sig Net picked this up today. This is up in NorPac. Is he trying for an invasion of the Aleutians? Depending on the island. I will take this. Adak has 6 forts with 342AV and CD guns, Amichita has 6 forts with 250 AV and CD guns. I have a bunch of fighers and DBs based up their with some subs.

RE: Question
I'm going after Prome again. Almost 100 fighters will sweep with 50 fighters as bomber escort. I am also planning a move in the Solomons when the moon is low again. I might have everything in place by then.
RE: Question
6th July 43
Carriers unknown
China
Bombed
Burma
Prome AF is closed down. No resistance.
Rangoon
Ships reported. Going to try and mine the port during the day and night.
Rabual
443 fighters reported. Dang. CVs are still reported. Going to mine the port at night by bombers. I've not had any luck with aerial mining but need to try. A sub will investigate the hex also. I figure I will lose it with mines and ships in the hex. Might get lucky.
Shortlands
AF bombed.
Gatsma
86 fighers reported here today. I am going to try and sweep with P 38s and Corsairs. 2 Sqds of each.
PM
AF bombed.
Setting up future ops.

7-8th July 43

China
Bombed
Burma
We close the Promes AF. We also lose some Beaufighters.
Biak
We drop some Mk 13 mines and actually sink an aMC with a mine. Go figure we scored a hit.
Solomons
On the 7th we both sweep and find nothing. MB is bombarded on the 8th by 3 BBs, 3 CLs. They sink several xAKs dropping off supplies and destroy 17 AC with moderate damage to the island’s facilities. I'm expecting a sweep tomorrow. Rabual I sent in a sub on the 7th and she sinks an aMC. We’ve had 2 subs damaged in the last 2 days, but nothing major.
Jap loses
2 CS
4 CA’s
5 CL’s
54 DDs
14 DMS’s
7 aMC’s
By my count there should be around 7 BB’s (2 of which I think are in shipyards) 10 CA’s and 12 CLs roaming around the Pacific with the KB still intact.
Also we have sunk 16 ships by mines. I need to figure out where everything is. If my signet is right a CVE/L is between PH and the Aleutians.
I wonder where Koniu’s line in the sand is. Will he fight for Woodlark Island?

You need to have grejoy check your spelling.
BTW - how is Campaign Series treatin' ya?

9-11th July 43

China
Bombed and a few LCUs getting smacked around by the Japs.
Burma
We hit Prome again.
Solomons
Shortlands is hit again. I want to keep Prome and Shortlands AFs closed.
A fleet boat takes mod damage, while patrolling around Singers.
I can't remember much else going on the last few turns. 2 Weeks ago my computer crashed. Last week my internet started to be unstable and then just went out. Well my neighbor had accidently mowed my internet cable. So Now I'm back.
JeffK: I haven't played for a 2 weeks. Still trying to figure things out. Its fun but not as fun as AE. I've been spending most of my free time fishing or doing honey do things. Greyjoy and I was in the same spelling class. Don't make fun of us. [:'(]

I love AE...don't get me wrong. Campaign Series is a nice change of pace for instant action and some tactical battles.

Solomons
We bomb the base just north of Shortlands. That AF is closed for now.
Maloelap
Helens get a bloody nose bombing the AF. 5 are lost and 18 damaged.
Midway
TF reports a TB flying around. HMM could those CVE/Ls still be around?

Bloody day over Prome
I only have the RP. But its a bloody day over Prome.
Kurt: I am only in the Marshalls. Gilberts was my last CV clash that I lost.
Joc: Down below.
Koniu said that he lost 100 fighters. He said that his intel is showing that I lost 17 4Es, and 43 2Es. I know the 2Es isn't right only 32 flew. He said that I lost 47 fighters. 10 P47s, 20 P38s the rest were Corsairs, Hellcats, Beaufighters, and Cobras. the air battles with the Corsairs looked funny to me. For some reason they were escorted by Beaufighters and Cobras.
First Air battle.

I count around 14 Jap fighter groups over Prome. They had good warning from radar or something.
Koniu tried to bomb Maloelap again. He lost several more planes and a bunch damaged. I have 2 resupply TF's a day out.

RE: Bloody day over Prome
Joc: I am getting ready to move on Woodlark in the Solomons. I am waiting for the moonlight to go down before I do the invasion. My resupply missions in the Marshalls is hopefully keeping a few ships around that area. I am letting my CVE's be spotted by Jap Nav search.
Woodlark has 2 units present. One is a BF the other is a Nav Guard unit. The problem is Koniu has been keeping around 500 fighters at Rabual. I also think the KB might be at Truk (are you happy Jeff[:D])
Burma
I am moving units around and looking for a week spot. The yellow road from Taung Gyi has an ID in each hex with one other unit. I think most are Art units. Ramree Island has an ID present. I am going to attack from the land side.
I have a few others that I am moving assets to or thinking about. IE Koepang area. I just haven't thought it all the way thru yet.
I think Joc could be my neighbor with that redneck gold chain red hair and read goatee. I'll say he is a West Virginian.

RE: Bloody day over Prome
Thanks for the maps Joe, I read quite a few AARs and have a hard time keeping track.
