Disappearing ground units

Here's one I haven't seen before.

Scenario 17 PBEM 1-day turns, October 42, I'm the IJN. I am returning a few (Baseorce, AT unit, 2 AA units) from Truk General Hopital to Shortlands. The TF arrives and starts to unload. I didn't notice at the time, but the units disappeared. TF unloaded, but the units not at Shortlands.

I did notice when 7 days later the 4 units suddenly appear at Gavigamana, an allied base.

I tracked back through the intervening turns and these units were not anywhere on map or listed in the ground unit database for the 7 days.

I am re-starting 2 days before the disappearance to see if the repeats.

I do have all the save turns from this period.

Oh yes. Game is v2.20, and as I recall was started after the patch was released.
