Who said that a blind hatred of the English ever is out-dated? Why, we've been keeping it running for hundreds of years with brilliant success. [:'(]

At least they've injected some new blood. The in-breeding was getting embarrassing, what with the haemophilia and the 6-fingered, loony ones they had to keep locked away [:'(]

I still think King Ruprecht the First would add a bit of interest too. George is just a bit 1920s for mine and we've had heaps of them [;)]

Also, I've managed to find a photo of warspite1 from some time ago...

As you say, you don't follow the Royal Family, and every utterance you make on the subject confirms that.
I still think King Ruprecht the First would add a bit of interest too.

Maybe, but I still think the Queen should have got her way with

Ok. A bit of research indicates that the Haemophilia wasn't the result of inbreeding but the inbreeding of the European royal families is a fact.

From Wikipedia...

One of the most famous examples of a genetic trait aggravated by royal family intermarriage was the House of Habsburg, which inmarried particularly often and is known for the mandibular prognathism of the Habsburger (Unter) Lippe (otherwise known as the 'Habsburg jaw', 'Habsburg lip' or 'Austrian lip'"). This was typical for many Habsburg relatives over a period of six centuries. The condition progressed through the generations to the point that the last of the Spanish Habsburgs, Charles II of Spain, could not properly chew his food.

Besides the jaw deformity, Charles II also had a huge number of other genetic physical, intellectual, sexual, and emotional problems. It is speculated that the simultaneous occurrence in Charles II of two different genetic disorders: combined pituitary hormone deficiency and distal renal tubular acidosis could explain most of the complex clinical profile of this king, including his impotence/infertility which in the last instance led to the extinction of the dynasty.

Francis II from the house of Habsburg-Lorraine married his double cousin Maria Theresa of Naples and Sicily, and several of their children had potentially genetic health problems. Their daughter Marie Anne is said to have suffered from a hideous facial deformity and also being mentally deficient. Their son Ferdinand who became an emperor was also mentally deficient and suffered from Hydrocephalus (meaning water head) which resulted in an enlarged head. He also had several seizures daily. Of course he never was capable of leading the empire and relied on others and abdicated during the difficulties of the Revolutions of 1848. When informed of the revolution he supposedly asked “But are they allowed to do that?” (Viennese German: Ja, dürfen's denn des?) Also five of the children of Francis II died in infancy or early childhood.

Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh are third cousins as a result of both being directly descended from Queen Victoria; as well as second cousins once removed as a result of being directly descended from Christian IX of Denmark.

And what about the Queen's cousins Nerissa and Katherine Bowes-Lyon? They were incarcerated in 1941 in the Royal Earlswood Asylum for Mental Defectives (charmingly described in the language of the time as one for "idiots, imbeciles and the feeble-minded") and essentially forgotten.

So my suggestion that they're inbred and have kept loony ones locked up is completely true [8D]

a) The old House of Habsburg is irrelevant to the current British monarchy

b) The Bowes-Lyon's are related to the Queen through their mother marrying into the family.

c) If First cousins can be legally married, what is the issue with third cousins?

We'll get something new - Charles III (last Charles in the 1600'), then William V (last William in the early 1800's) and by the time George VII comes around it will be new [:)]

In general we should be breeding with people as little related to us as possible [;)]

BTW, I noticed you haven't addressed the fact that they're imposters. I thought a man who is such a stickler for royal detail would be demanding that the current lot be dragged off to the Tower of London and the rightful heirs put in their stead? [:'(]

The Queen Mother Scottish? I don't recall her speaking with a thick Scottish brogue. So I looked and apart from being born there, she was as Scottish as a London cabbie. Both her parents were from old English families, she didn't have a Scottish accent and she existed in an aristocratic bubble that happened to be in Scotland, when she wasn't in England. "Scottish roots" eh? Balderdash! [8|]

Prince Philip isn't really Greek either. He doesn't look even remotely Greek, which is because he is the product of the usual hodge-podge of German and Russian nobility and just happened to be born in Greece.

I used the House of Habsburg as an example of the limited gene pool that has bedevilled European royalty in general.
The Bowes-Lyon's are related to the Queen through their mother marrying into the family.

Yes, and they are blood relatives of the current royals, sharing a pair of grandparents with the Queen.

Additionally, (from Wikipedia)

"...both had been listed in Burke's Peerage as being dead since the 1963 edition. Suggestions of a royal cover-up were rejected in the press by Lord Clinton, who thought that his aunt Fenella (the mother of the two daughters) had completed the form for Burke's Peerage incorrectly due to 'vagueness'; however, Burke's Peerage included specific dates of death for both sisters. According to a 2011 television documentary about the sisters, "throughout their time at the hospital, there is no known record that the sisters were ever visited by any member of the Bowes-Lyon or royal families, despite their aunt, the Queen Mother, being a Patron of MENCAP" (the charity for people with a learning disability). Nurses interviewed on the documentary said that, to their knowledge, the family never even sent the sisters a birthday or Christmas gift or card. When Nerissa died in 1986, none of her family attended the funeral. She was buried at Redhill Cemetery."

I would imagine that there is a lot of German DNA in Great Britain. The German/Scandinavian tribes have been invading and settling there for centuries!

I would be curious as to what the DNA make-up of Britain really is? I may Google that...

BTW, my Scottish mates want them to bugger off. They'd also like a proper, independent country like everyone else, please, and English people who bang on about their poxy pretend parliament tend to get punched repeatedly in the head [;)]

The above represents the situation advocates of Scottish independence like to pretend exists. The reality is that every time they have a poll a greater number of English people think Scotland should be independent than Scottish people do! Informing Scots of this usually produces looks of bafflement and prolonged silences that are most entertaining, as the implications sink in. [;)]
