Courier Questions

Post by GenChaos33 »

Just got this great game at Historicon and love playing it at Historical/Grognard/Custom level! But I have a few courier questions...(thanks, hope I didn't miss the answers in the manual)

1) Why does the courier message received not have coordinates or maybe a nearby landmark in the message so that I know a general idea where the sub-unit is on the blank map?

2) Why don't sub units send a message that they have reached their destination?

3) Why does the visual of the incoming courier coming towards me always use roads where needed? But when I send out a courier message, the courier always goes in a straight line to its destination unit/leader? Am I missing a use roads button for the courier?

The courier system has several holes, so the shortcomings you mentioned in 1&2 are something we have to live with. Hopefully a sequel to SOW will address these. It would be a nice feature if advanced units would report back periodically and let the player know what they see.

Couriers will take roads if the distance to the recipient is long enough.
Secession is futile.
