He's kind of late for Adak IMHO. Winter is coming to. Perhaps some landing inter-ruptus is in order.

I think its a fake out. He has several different troops prepping for Adak. They have been prepping for over a year now.

China
BF is being kicked around by a tank rgt above Hami.

Burma
The CL TF got away.

Solomons
The TF heading to Woodlark was a BB SAG. Woodlark also has mines now. Even with 9/10 DL mines did not show up on my screen. We lose 6 PT boats 2 are to mines the rest to the SAG. Only one PT boat launched its TTs with 14% moonlight. BBs open up at 10k yards. We can also confirm another CA SAG is in the area. BBs spotted Haruna, Kirishima, and the Yamato. Hmmm what am I going to do with the invasion now. It looks like Woodlark will be a fight. I will have to think if I should go for it or wait.

The rest of the map is quiet.

Solomons
We have 2 ASW contacts just outside of PM. 2 of the Jap subs are hit. I have sightings of several other subs in the area. I am sending out several ASW TFs to deal with them. I also sent in some AMs to sweep Woodlark.

The rest of the area is quiet.

HI
We put 2 TTs into a tanker leaving her with heavy damage and heavy fires. Her oil cargo was burning. We also sink an xAKL.

Solomons
We damage another sub off PM. I see 13 or so subs roaming around PM. ASW TFs are dispatched to the hot spots. Hopefully I can damage or sink a few of them.

So I am planning an assault on Ramree island. I have 2 IDs and several BDEs and armor prepped for Ramree. I am wondering whats the best way to send troops across the river. Should I send them all across or send a group first then just 1/3 AV after?

I'm not sure on this but have you considered a small amphibious landing, timed right, to offset the river crossing penalty? Have you overflown with recon yet? What's the air superiority situation? Details man, details.[8D]

Kurt: No ships for the invasion of Ramree. I could prob hold it over his base. One jap ID is present on the island. No port or AF present. Just an ID.

3 ASW attacks all 3 subs receive heavy damage, 2 sink an I boat and an RO boat. We do have a DD scrap. I get 5 hits on one it was on fire when they ran away. 2 of my DDs took light damage. I see that he wants to fight. Lets give him one.

China
Tank rgt still kicking around my Chinese BF. What he doesn't know is a Chinese BDE is moving on Hami.

Burma
We hit Lashio AF.

Solomons
We hit the base above Shortlands for mod damage to the AF.

Woodlark
Ground troops are bombed. Nav Guard unit and a Coy unit. Invasion forces will depart tonite for Woodlark. 1 Aussie Inf Bde with a tank unit. A CL SAG and PT boat TF will stand guard. AMs are trying to remove the mines but not having much luck. I will have 36 Hellcats at 20k, 17 Corsairs at 16k, 25 P40K at 10K, and another 25 P40K at 5K. I don't expect much resistance tonite from the Japs. Maybe some DDs to sink my AMs. But that's it. The next turn, I expect air and naval counterattacks. I will move in a CA SAG.

The problem Koniu will have with Woodlark, as I see it is: 1: Woodlark is 8 hexs from Rabual. I have 2 bases that are also 8 hexs from Rabual. His planes may stray into one of my bases. I do have PT TFs and a resupply TF at these bases. So Some of his planes decide to attack one of these TFs. Fine by me. 2: His navy will sail close to my AFs, and at full speed with a lot of subs patrolling around.

He has over 500 fighters with 54 bombers present at Rabual. Truk has a few fighters and almost 200 bombers. His carriers are probably close by. He also knows that I have been moving a lot of assets into the area and that its one of the few places I can advance without carriers.

Solomons
4 DDs came after my AMs, they didn't like what they found. CL SAG was waiting on them during the daylight hours. CR below. 2/3s of the Inf BDE is on land and half of the tank unit is also. Half of my ships have unloaded all their troops they will be withdrawn. The rest will stay another day. My SAG will withdraw also. PT TF will stand guard. Air bombing kills over 100 troops on Woodlark. Jap LCus did not fire back at my troops and only 7 guns fired at my ships. I expect a counterattack this next turn.

Day Time Surface Combat, near Woodlark Island at 104,133, Range 17,000 Yards

Japanese Ships
DD Shikinami, Shell hits 21, and is sunk
DD Ayanami, Shell hits 16, heavy fires, heavy damage
DD Oboro, Shell hits 8, heavy fires, heavy damage
DD Fumizuki, Shell hits 3, heavy fires, heavy damage

Allied Ships
CL Achilles
CL Richmond, Shell hits 1
CL Detroit
DD Farenholt, Shell hits 1
DD McCook
DD Sims
DD Anderson, Shell hits 2, heavy fires
DD Mustin, Shell hits 2
DD Tucker, Shell hits 2

The rest of the map is fairly quiet.

Woodlark
I made a mistake. I forgot to stop unloading of the TF that was suppose to leave. So it stayed. Koniu sent in the hammer. 4 BBs with DDs and another SAG with 5 CAs with DDs. My PT boats had the BBs spotted at 11k yard all the way down to 5k yards then bolted. I lost 30 ships. Mostly xAPs, and xAKs with some SCs and xAKLs. My subs only shot at his DDs. No joy with them. DBs and TBs attacked at night we did land a bomb on a DD. Almost 700 fighters at Rabual this turn. So he covered his SAGs with a lot of AC. There is a silver lining in this battle. 2 of the BBs were smoking without any hits. Must have high systems damage. Also he shot up a lot of ammo. I doubt Rabual can reload all those ships in one day. Also This was one day of full speed run. I wonder if he can do it 2 or 3 days in a row. I say this because.

Woodlark was a feint. We are going all in for Buna. 2 IDs and a tank unit are onboard a bunch of APAs, AKAs and a few xAPs. I will have a CL, 2 CA, and an old BB SAG with 2 PT TFs covering the landing. The are going in tonight. I have mined the hex just south of Rabual. More later

Woodlark
I have an Aussi BDE their with most of the infantry intact and in good shape. I don't have its big guns. I have 24 M10 tanks destroyers present in good shape. 123 AV in total. The Nav guard and Coy unit have been bombed for several days now. I am thinking of doing a DA with the tanks and see whats there. I can have another BDE or 2 there in a few days after the Buna invasion. I'm not familiar with the land attack side of the game yet. I have only been on the receiving end.

Thats a really nice move DOCOUP! [&o] Go in at full speed with the APA/AKAs. They will unload everything plus 15k-30k supply during the first turn. So you can get in, unload and then get out in just one turn! This is the true power of the allies assault ships. But take care of them early on. They are very precious until 44 when they really start coming in numbers.

The Jap NavGuard units are pretty weak at this point if you upgraded your units properly with the latest squads. The OZ BDEs are very good with their 25 pounders and high MRL/EXP so unless he got really high forts up there shouldn´t be a problem! [:)] If needed you can always drop off their guns later!

And don´t worry about losing the xAK/xAPs. You can lose ten times the numbers and still don´t notice it. [:)]

PS. Good luck!

We land at Buna. Japs mine the hex. We lose a PT boat and 2 APAs run into mines but are lightly damaged. All APAs are unloaded, AKAs still have a lot of supply on them but they are being pulled back with the APAs. I'm not taking a chance with them. Buna has a Garrison unit, a BF and something else, only 7k worth of troops. Everything is set to do a DA tomorrow.

Woodlark
We capture it. One unit destroyed and another hiding on the far end of the island. We will crush it tomorrow also.

Rabual
Fighters has went from almost 700 to under 500 this turn. No change in bombers. I wonder if he is going to try and attack this next turn? I am thinking about pulling everything important out this turn. Leaving the few ships with troops to unload and some supplies.

I am amazed by the APAs.

Burma
We go after a tank unit north of Bhamo. Bombers go in before the fighters. We lose 13 2Es and 2 P38s . They do hold their own and shoot down several fighters. P38s go in and shoot down whats left. Japs lose 15 Georges and 14 Tojos. Not bad.

Buna
Captured. I pulled all ships back except a PT boat TFs. I'm getting ready to send in some supplies and 2nd line troops. Koniu sweeps a dot base and catches some leakers 18 FM1s. He also sends out a 3 DD TF that's 5 hexs from Rabual. I'm guessing a CAP trap. Good thing the weather was bad over these ships. None of my attack planes flew.

I am thinking of walking my troops from Buna up to Lae. I just wonder if this could or was done in the real war. Don't want to do anything gamey. I will ask Koniu when I send back the next turn.

Troops definitely moved along that coastline. It was slow, but they did it. Most of the actual invasions came by sea as that was the easier method.

Thanks Obvert. I thought they did. I know they moved thru the jungles in the area but not for sure if they moved in that area. I figure put them in combat mode and let them travel 1 mile a day. I don't trust Koniu. He's trying to kill my electronic soldiers.[:D]

Buna
I am sending in a Naval BF, Naval const rgt, and AHQ by boat. I am flying in an Aviation support unit. We have decided that I can move LCUs up the coast but they must be light and be in combat mode. I'm good with that. Koniu swept Buna with 40 Georges this turn, if he does it again he will meet 81 allied fighters.

MB
Francis's fly in at night and attack a BB. Night fighters shoot down 1 and flak shoots down 2. No damage to the BB.

I have a feeling Koniu is up to something. He asked if I could return the turn today. I know when I want a turn fast I am doing something big or important. I see a BB TF outside Rabual intel says its moving to Rabual but it could be wrong. We will see.
