I predict won't be able to hold enough buffer to hold on to Kaluga in March.

Situation on Moscow approaches looks grim.

Mighty German mountain division is here. It will paralyse advance from the north and I do not have enough quality units in the south to force Michael out of Voronezh.

My prospects for spring and summer of '42 look grim.

T31 South (Soviet)

To save semi encircled infantry units Wehrmacht unleashed best units from their winter quarters.

I made several successful attacks, but I did not have enough strength to go for anything else than frontal assault.

Recently unfrozen elite of from Caucasus was transferred to Moscow area to reinvigorate offensive.

I hope to get enough buffer to get me safe through spring.

I might not be able to get rid of dangerous Voronezh salient.

There are plenty diggers here and quality of troops is still high so should be fine in March despite no favourable defensivele terrain.

T33 north (Soviet)

Last turn of January.

I maintain illusion of advance in far north. Some pressure is being exerted in Rhev area, really fighting is taking place near Kalinin.

Caucasus units made the difference.

I won't make it. Voronezh should be captured, but once conditions change he will penetrate far beyond Don.

I looks like Germans will spend next winter at Volga shores.

In the meantime I started to construct defensive line in the rear, but it is less checker more cheese-boarding.
