Good bye elicense?

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Good bye elicense?

Post by rjh1971 »

I have all SC series and it's really a surprise that next game will be released by Matrix/Slitherine.
I guess this means that the elincese game protection will now be replaced by the serial number used in all M/S games.
The elicense activation and limited number of activations allowed by battlefrontIt really pissed me off (apologies before anyone jumps at me) . Not that I have the game in many pc just two, but one them has no internet connection and had to ask for a manual activation, a real pain.
I wonder as somebody already posted elsewhere how Battlefront is going to take it?
Well you already have my money for this game [8D]

Me I couldn't care less how Moon takes it. I don't expect Hubert to say anything either way. He likely will support all of his SC2 efforts.

Myself, well my opinion has been expressed by how I don't own any of SC2 and making references to how anything was done in SC2 is of no value to me. Couldn't care less, they killed all of my sales with that moronic drm scheme. I spoke with my wallet. As I see it, SC2 has as much worth as Highlander 2. It never happened :)

I wouldn't be playing SC3 if it had not come to Slitherine Group. Simple as that.

I hate the Battlefront elicense, i stopped to buy their games because this. Hope that SC3 will be released with a matrix serial.

+1 to you guys, the DRM scheme was bothersome and annoying.
I must however admit that any problem ever associated with DRM or game activation,  promptly got addressed by either Hubert or the staff over at Battlefront. Their customer support is topnotch.
Still, it didn't *feel* right. I understand their point of view (battle piracy) but they have to understand as well our point of view... it feels awkward to do this and that just to play *your* game.
So hope indeed they go for the Matrix serial code.

Thankfully for you wannabe SC3ers all of us didn't take your point of view. Sure I detested the DRM, but I felt the game was worth the additional complication, which really wasn't that great(I'd be lucky if that was the most adversity I ever had to face in life).

You guys should remember that life is full of tests, the DRM was one, for some of you![:'(] Money isn't everything and sometimes perseverance can overcome those distasteful things in life, but it takes something that looks like "sacrifice", nuff said!

So, for all the patrons of SC2, thanks for your sacrifice, hence we now have SC3.

Though I don't like the e-L drm, I bought all the games and just once had to ask for help and got a satisfactory solution very quickly. Their drm was not enough to keep me away from SC superb games [;)]

"life is full of tests, the DRM was one"

Yep life is full of tests.

If SC2 had rolled over and died, well I suppose that too would have been a test.

I wouldn't have witnessed it do it though.

I can't know if anything from SC2 will have aided in getting SC3 to where it will be.

But I do know this much, Hubert is after all here and not at Battlefront. And while I don't require Hubert to say why he came here, the thing is, he did come here.

Often actions speak plenty, and words are not required.

I agree. The DRM is not a no sale for me. Now they have unlimited downloads for ever I'm more than happy. I've never installed a game on more than two PC's anyway and thats very rare..I find always online DRM more offensive.
