Using AI scripts

Post by Buck Beach »

I'm re-posting this over here to get some of you Mod type guru's insight. Out of respect for wdolson, I told him I was going to direct it here.

"I just checked the scenarios I normally use with the Editor (GC 01 & DaBabes Big (028)) for testing and neither of them reflect "use AI" for any of the locations under the Scenario Tab. I had assigned each what I thought were AI scripts (aei 001 thru 017) for each under the games SCEN folder."

Any comments??

I think the 'use AI' thing went away looong, looong ago when the AI was originally redone. The AI functions either way.

How does one read the aei data files in the SCEN folder for education?

It’s all manual renaming and a real pita. The editor only reads in AI data from the primary aei file. So, for scen 28, rename the primary aei028.dat to aei028-00.dat. Then rename aei028-01.dat to aei028.dat. Reopen the scen and the editor now shows the 01 file content in the AI Data tab.

Rename aei028.dat back to aei028-01.dat and pick another one for renaming to aei028.dat. Rinse and repeat. When you are finished, don’t forget to rename the aei028-00.dat file back to aei028.dat. Need to keep track of the numbers and try to keep them in the original order, another pita.[8D]

Not sure I need that much education at this point in my life.

Thank you John

Yeah, it is really, really tedious.
