My question is how many supplies the IJ cached in the PI? If they are attacking they must feel there is an abundance ... I am waiting for the supplies (-) in the combat reports ..

They attacked once at Manira and were narrowly repulsed. They attacked at Lingayen and caused 12,000 Arries to disappear. No other ground attacks.

Just to confirm, JJ does not get a supply source at Manira, right?

Depending on damage .. Manila starts with 100 LI in DBB and resources ... LI can produce while occupied in the Beta's...A 'w' key will tell you what hexsides you own ...But yes it is quite possible for Manila to distribute supplies ..

Sorry - I have no turn this morning, ran out of interesting news items to read, and still had coffee left to sip before going out to do chores! [:D]

Then why did we have to stop using Willie Pete rounds? Does that sound fair? JJ has SERIOUS forces on Luzon.

Manila is the key pin in this situation and with stacking limits and urban terrain the IJ can extract a toll...Maybe consolidating PI might be the highest priority rather than more expansion?

Any LCU's laying around that can support the Manila campaign? Marines might be the most optimal with a very high density in AV/Firepower/Stacking ratio ..smashing the LI might be a consideration . but that would mean you will be unable to use it in the aftermath ....

What are the thoughts of the staff planners?

This is not a stacking limits game. Even so the Arried Brain Trust is of the opinion that attacking Manira is not going to be much fun. [:)] We can bring up some arty from the siege of Davao. We have some Marines at Sorong (3 regiments) and another one moving to San Diego but they are prepping for Okinawa.

32nd ID is going to Vigan to stabilize things there before the Mongoh Horde arrives.

Priorities in Luzon:

1) Shut down LYB airfields

2) Reinforce Vigan and build forts at Vigan and Iba.

3) Capture Aparri and build to level 9.

4) Attrit JJ ground troops by air

Here is what we have at Manila. I was going to pull out of line 5th and 7th Marines and rebuild 1st Marine Div but the line would be too weak.

Dutch Treat: Michishio "takes one up the chuff". This is the Joe Isuzu fask force headed NE..perhaps to Shanghai where that creepy guy with buck teeth and long fingernails lives. Somewhat comical to call this an "ASW attack".[:)]

ASW attack near Iriomote at 88,65

Japanese Ships
DD Michishio, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage
DD Kisaragi

Allied Ships
SS KXV
Correction: since it was an ASW attack and Michishio was attacking KXV at the time, that would be a "deep throat" shot rather than an "up-the-chuffer".

Maybe better on Luzon to hold the tiger by the tail while you build a cage around it (aka those invasions further north)?

Given the complete picture .. I am with you on this ... put enough in Manila to discourage attacks and to keep the resources here busy and secure the rest of the Island ... Then concentrate everything in Manila and crush the IJ ... I might propose a 3 month endeavor...

In the meantime the massed aerial assault continues against vulnerable target .. although disabled/destroyed is obvious in the combat reports .. do not overlook the disruption results from combat/ground bombing.. a nice all out 4E attack just before the ground combat can have devastating consequences altering enemy firepower and AV linearly with %X disruption ...the adjusted AV after such an attack for example can be 1/2 even though disabled/destroyed squads did not reflect such devastation .... of course disabled/destroyed squads are a nice plus but again an air bombardment achieves more results than shown in the combat reports ...

Elizabeth Hurley's role in that movie was breathtaking. I'd have signed on the dotted line too.

She looks like Moana at FOB San Jose.

Even though it might be offensive to French maids, I will post it for the benefit of those with slow servers.
