May have been a serious oversight..

Post by wodin »

Well..just tried the demo (Last time I played the demo was on release)and I have to say not only did it look fine I really enjoyed the game. Seems a serious oversight on my part, I think CMBN had been released at the same time and thats the one I went for. I do love the CMX2 series but I think I was way to quick to write this off.

I think if this had been released a few years earlier i.e around the time of CMBB it would have been a huge hit. Anyway when I have some spare cash I shall be buying it.

Such a shame the next iteration seems dead..as improved Inf would have made this a classic for me I feel.

Finished the demo scenarios..well it's a decent game...just a few years to late. I imagine a new game would have been very interesting indeed.

There are plenty of people playing and enjoying even the old style 2D games. They haven't stopped making those.

The 3D tactical tank game world isn't even ruled by CM anymore. It is ruled by WOT.

Huge difference between WoT and CM....like totally different ends of the spectrum, infact different type of game..the only thing the same is it has WW2 tanks in it and things shoot at each other..

As for 2D games one day someone will make a beautiful looking 2D tactical wargame..hopefully the next SP will be it...what dates this game is the fact it's 3D and the 3D isn't good enough for this day and age.

I'm one that can't stand to play a tactical tank game in 2D. 20 years ago friends tried to get me interested in SP. It's too board game for me. I left board games when I discovered miniatures.

I too think that PC should be given one more game release and a chance at being everything that it could be. It is soo close now. I would imagine that there are a number of persons out there that wished they could code.

I had started to try to learn myself several years ago, but with children and such, just could not find the time to really stick with it. I wonder if the lack of interest is lack of money or what.

I think it's a difficult to find someone with the needed skill set combined with an interest in this specific game and a willingness to work for minimal money. So it's kind of a trifecta of obstacles to overcome.

I agree that the game is close, but to really be able to compete, there is a significant amount of coding that would be needed to make the engine efficient.

But I haven't totally given up hope that there could be a follow-up game.

What information is out there that leads you to think that they may try one more kick at the can with this system?

Sorry Ratzki, I didn't mean suggest I had any specific information to make me think Matrix was going to do another game in series, but I know I would like to see one.
