Night Attenuation and Land Combat in 1 Day+ turns?

Post by Telumar »

The manual explicitly stastes that this is the case for Air units:

13.9.10 Night Attenuation
If Turns are Full Days or longer, Air unit Attack and Defense
Strengths are multiplied by 83% for All Weather
equipment, 66% otherwise.

But there is nothing about land combat in full day and longer turns. Are combat values averaged? Or not? If so how and which influence has Night Combat Proficiency in this?

It depends upon whether they are affected by visibility or not. Visibility is lighting x weather. Lighting is 100 for day, 66 for mixed, and 33 for night. Weather is 100 for clear, 66 for hazy, and 33 for overcast. Mixed is the lighting condition for full day or longer turns.

Thanks, Bob. However for infantry this is not mentioned in the manual (or i missed it?) - only for armor/anti-armor combat.

And Night Combat Proficiency has no influence on this?

For what I understand "All weather" and "Night Prroficiency" are separate, independent factors. First is related to hardware capability to operate efficently in limited visibility (incl. night), second to crew/soldiers skills & training in use of their assigned equippment (whatever it may be) at night warfare. As such Night Proficiency is apparently used to scale basic strengths (anti-personal, anti-armor, defense) for all units by (75 + NightProfi/4)% in full day or longer turns and by (50 + NightProfi/2)% in night turns for shorter then full day turn lenghts.
