Number of AFVs in mouseover

Post by DaveConn »

Has anyone noticed that the number shown for "AFVs" in the mouseover on the main screen is actually the total number of vehicles? That is, it seems to be the sum of "Vehicles" plus "Engineering Vehicles" from the base screen (instead of just the former). Intended or not? (It would seem "not" based on the label of "AFV" in the mouseover.)

I think this is because from the air, things like motorized support or engineer vehicles could be mistaken as AFVs. Especially from 20,000 feet.

Much like to a politician a gunboat is a gunboat, be it the Panay or the New Jersey. They have no clue as to any difference!

The same is true for the manner in which combat reports treat "guns".

The report lumps AT, AA, and artillery all into the "gun" category so it becomes misleading if one is trying use it to gage the number of artillery tubes the enemy is firing back with.

Also misleading when I'm trying to determine, without digging into my units, how many "real guns" I have firing in a bombardment attack. I could have 1,000 guns in a stack but only 250 or 300 or so actually worth anything (bigger than an 81mm mortar, for example) out of maybe only 400-500 that actually fire in bombardment.
