As said before, biggest news is the fall of Singapore.

As for other news:
- Australian cruisers are unmolested and on the way to Sydney
- Dutch Harbour is reinforced by the 201st infantry regiment
- 14th army is now planning for Colombo (might be important, might be a ruse. I'll start considering it once Port Blair falls)
- Imperial Guards are nowhere to be seen yet
- Dutch navy bombards Horn Island and damages the base / Kisaraga anchored there
- Imperial carriers sweep past the north coast of Darwin picking off stragglers. A couple of ships are in danger of being sunk (including the heavily damaged Danae, now heading for Capetown)

The main push is taking place above Hankow (nearly 3000 AV) with (armoured) flanking movements as far up as Paotow. I would say Quixote is trying to envelop Chungking from the north.

Closing down China requires (or at least it speeds things up) taking Rangoon. No major moves are made into Burma yet.

A couple of 100 Chinese AV is now destroyed and at least 1200 AV in direct danger.

My best guess is that Wyndham is going to be invaded. If my recon is correct its not a big force landing and thats pushing it against Darwin. It might be just the first wave though..

20+ Hudsons are set to naval bomb next turn. Not expecting to much from that.. Navy is staying out of it as the area is a deathtrap for ships..

Southeast Asia

The convoy (harrassed by dutch submarines, sinking one cargo vessel) I spotted earlier moving up the Malacca strait is heading further north, now confirmed supported by carriers. My guess is Port Blair is the target (but ofcourse, I have been wrong before). A cruiser force build around Cornwall and Exeter will position to strike any invasion fleet bound for Port Blair. I have decent patrol plane coverage so shouldn't get suprised.

1/38th Division is loaded on xAP Kitano Maru moving to San Fernando.
16/16th Division is planning for an attack on Mauban.

This means that one, perhaps two divisions are going to be deployed on Luzon. This is good news for me as I am in a fairly strong position on Clark and Bataan with a lot of supplies pulled out of Manila.

6/2nd Division is loaded on a Japanese CL moving to Georgetown.

The only thing I can make of this is that 2nd division might be redeployed to Burma OR Quixote is trying to hide the real destination of 2nd division. Might be that 2nd division is heading for Port Blair.

Another possibility (worst case) is that 2nd division is on ships together with 14th army (planning for Colombo, fragments loaded on ships) and heading for Ceylon..

No airforce in place and only british cruisers to counter that thrust. With just one brigade on the Island it would quickly fall.
Sadly, I don't have confirmation of a fragment of 2nd prepping for assault...

Mauritius is lost in the subsequent turn but the other ships manage to slip away. Looks like two divisions will be landing at Ceylon in the first week of january (defended by 3 Indian brigades) One looks like to be in reserve around Georgetown (sigint).

The convoy that unloaded 18th Brit at Madras is going to escape but only just.. Lucky that I made the decision to stop unloading supplies and reroute the ships to the west coast of India.

Burma seems to heat up. 5 units (at least a tank regiment and possibly the Imperial Guards are starting to move into Pegu from the SE. I am moving out of Rangoon and will delay the advance at Pegu while trying to slip the rest of the troops out North. Once Ceylon falls (foregone conclusion) there is nothing keeping me in Burma.

Looking back at december Quixote is advancing rapidly. He makes good use of his knowledge of troop dispositions for the allies at game start. Japan simply can't be stopped and can make some daring moves deep into allied territory. He is still positioned to strike on either India or Australia but looking at his troop movements (Java being ignored for now) and his committment of carriers into the bay of Bengal I would say an invasion of India is more likely.

Remember those transports I thought had evaded the IJN? They really didn't. Forgetting to reroute them I managed to get them in striking position of japanese carriers (and on top of a couple of submarines blockading Colombo). All but one are lost in the attacks.

I am trying to place the attack on Ceylon in perspective:

Strategic objectives of the Empire of Japan:

- Secure resources to continue fighting the war
- Secure sufficient bases to support the war effort
- Secure a defensive perimeter to protect existing and captured assets
- Damage or destroy allied land, sea and air forces
- Deprive the allies of good staging areas for future offensive operations

At first glance it could be any of the following

Right now losing Ceylon hurts. It will probably be used as a staging area for attacking India. But looking at the bright side, Japanese internal sealanes are already lengthening considerably..

The allies should now work to interdict the Singapore - Ceylon supply line. Submarines is what I can use here..
