Well, it's not supposed to work like that...

My monitor is too small to test it, but it shouldn't expand that area like it does.
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.
Try running the WitPTracker.bat again.

Hi, does anyone know the best version of Java 6 to download? There are a number of choices on the websites that still have the files. I have followed a lot of advice from this forum and I'm "almost" there in getting Tracker to work, but my last error makes me think I don't have the right version of Java 6? Is that possible based on what you see below? Thank you!

Below is my error screenshot, looks like I'm almost there... (and I need it as a 1943 GC Japanese player!)

TigerCub - as your java install is a little different than other installs you need to have this in the batch file.
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_05\bin\java.exe" -Xms384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"

This is a fairly old version of Java6 too ... see below for a link to a newer version of java6 if you want to upgrade it..

If you want some install help PM ME - I can do a remote session with Teamviewer and get it working in mins. ;-)

The version you should download is jre-6u45-windows-i586
I have this downloadable here (as Oracle is making it harder to find) -
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/176 ... s-i586.exe

Once you have installed it you need to point the tracker.batch file to that location.
On windows7x64bit that would look something like this...
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" -Xms384m -Xmx512m -jar "WitPTracker.jar"

You can watch my old install video here:-

Hi Damien and Floyd. Is it possible on the next version to make the top of the map window smaller?
As shown, the top part takes up a lot of room which I would like to adjust to see more of the map.
There is a lot of white space here.

It always has to some extent...I'll have a look at the code some-more.

Today I tried again to make WitPTracker work on my Win 8 machine and I finally managed to initialize the traker database on my first turn save.
Unfortunately, this is all I actually got:

Image

As you can see, base names (and, perhaps, base data too) are totally corrupted!

BTW I'm playing as the Allies in a PBEM, scen. 28 DBB-B.

Did anyone experienced something similar?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Looks like the file wasn't read in properly. Are you sure you have the correct pwsdll.dll file (one that matches the version of the game the save was made with)? Are the other objects also messed up (LCU, Ships, etc)?
Delete the trackerdb.* files.
Copy the pwsdll.dll file from the game folder to the WitPTracker folder.

Yes, it seems that I simply forgot to copy the pwsdll.dll from the latest beta into the tracker's folder. [:o]
Thank you for the reminder.

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem as lee, with the same error message in the DOS window.

jre-6u45-windows-i586 has been downloaded from the link provided and installed.
Oracle has indeed made it a pain in the backside to download legacy Java and now requires registration - which I did a while back - but the confirmation link never arrived in my email.

As well as placing a copy of the java.exe in the tracker directory, the tracker.batch file has been pointed to the folder where Java 6 is now installed.

...and this still comes up:

Not sure what information you all need to solve this problem but the IJ crossed the line of death in INdia and WitPTracker freezes on "locations".

So I deleted the database files and tried to start again and it fails at an insert:

.....
INSERT INTO LCUOBJECTS VALUES(7962,17,144,252,498,0)
INSERT INTO LCUOBJECTS VALUES(7962,18,144,253,132,0)
....

Hi. What was done to Java 7 to make so many programs not work with it?

I expect they could make a Java 7 version but they have real lives (I think). [;)]

While we're on it, here's an idea. Have plotted on the map dots in hexes where a friendly sub attack occured. Have only one dot in any given hex that would represent the latest attack. Color code them: green = enemy ship sighting yellow = enemy ship hit red = enemy ship sunk. They should probably obsolesce off the map after a certain period, maybe three months. The purpose would be to define the enemy's shipping routes so you can more efficiently patrol. When you have time. [:'(]

RPA points

Post by Yaab »

I have several questions concerning Ship Repairs > Port View tab.

1) What exactly does PRA abbreviation mean? I know these are repair points, but which ones - ship damage or ship weapon damage ones?
2) How is the PRA number calculated? Does it take into account points from nav support or tender ships? Are PRA points calculated per turn?
3) How many PRA points are spent per 1 point of ship/weapon damage? Is it 100 points?

Thanks

1. I used the manual terminology so PRA = Port Repair Assist.
2. I just used the info from the table on p.239 for the port size and then added that to the points generated by a repair yard being present too. I was going to do more here with Nav support and IIRC I had intended on expanding to tender ships as well.
3. It's been a while and I'd need to re-read Page 239-248 of the manual. Let me get back to you with some more details later...

While doing planning for my latest game, I noticed that it's not possible to export the contents of the CS Cargo Planning tab.

Would that be hard to implement?

Edit: another thing I just noticed - when looking at Fusan in particular and possibly all level 4 ports, it lists the TF dock value is 46k instead of 48k as it should be.

Any thoughts on this one as far as where the error is happening?
