If memory serves me right, in the epic game between PzB vs Andy Mac, PzB was doing very well as Japan. He to ran out of supplies late in the game. I don't think they even finished it because of this problem.
You and Brad need to discuss what to do about this issue. Post in the Mod Section about this in the DBB 30 thread. It needs a solution.

Stop spending more than you produce. Turn off factory repair and units replacements. Your supply usage should drop to less than 10K/day.ORIGINAL: GreyJoy
Pretty simply: i produce 25,900 supplies daily, while i spend an average of 29,000 every day. Even if Brad didn't bomb some of my HIs in China, i couldn't produce much more than 26,500.
That's because in this mod (DBB) the refineries do not produce supplies, so i have far less supplies produced than in stock.
The problem is that i'm going to spend even more...with all the LCUs coming as reinforcements in the next months....[:o]

Would this have been alleviated had Japan built less "stuff"? Japan can build thousands of planes above historical production, would that have contributed to the current supply problems?

Yes, and the supply situation should be dire for Japan in the late game if the Empire is still extended and the LOC is long and difficult. I think this is something we have to live with playing Japan, especially in a scenario that has no supply produced by refineries (not that I like this solution, since those places did produce the stuff that planes run on in the war, and in the game this is supply).

As posted above, I get that playability would suggest that it needs a solution, but would a nation keep it's Empire extended if it couldn't supply it's forces, or would it begin to conserve, stop expanding factories, live with less and begin an intentional strategic pull back? Sucks, but maybe that's the solution.

These suggestions can at least keep you going while the supply builds up again. I know you've already turned off a lot of fort building. I also had to do this at various points. I look at supply levels every day, and i'm not in nearly as extreme a scenario.

Speaking about my RL counterparts... yesterday night I had some problems sleeping (love problems, you know [:o]) and I read few pages of Fire in the Sky... then a read a sentence that enlighted me... in Jan 1944 the japs were still fighting from Rabaul...which remained, throughout the whole 1943 an active base...
By Jan 1944 I had already lost the whole Solomons, Papua-NG, got Timor surrounded and the allies with a foothold in the Mollucces... am I really doing better than RL? Not that much, at least speaking about my dominions... the allies are much closer to HI and to the PI than they were, in feb 1944, in RL...

I hope your lady issues resolve soon and you can go back to losing sleep for other more positive reasons. [;)]

Sorry to hear about the GF problems. Hope it works out!
Don´t lose any sleep over the game though. You are doing extremely well and you have now kept Bran in almost the same place for what now? 4-6 months? Quite a achievement! [:)]

I'm happy about my achievements so far. My consideration was concerning what happened in RL... in game terms, even if Japan hasn't had any Midway and has won (or at least not lost) all the major naval and air engagements of the war, the allies are advancing far more fast than in RL.

Sometimes I wish I preferred the carrot rather than the potatoe [:D]...life would be much easier

mmm...let's see how can I explain it... no, it's not an idiom... but I thought that language would be "international" [:D]
Ok, let's say 99,9% of this forum members have carrots... and the 0,1% have potatoes![:D]
Just imagine how sweet would be life if you could eat a salad of carrots playing witp instead of a Salzkartoffeln watching Gray's Anatomy [;)]

That faster pace is possible in game where it wasn't as much in the war. Plus Nimitz and others were a bit more risk averse than most Allied players. Losing ships meant losing men. Look at how many ships were lost in 44-45. Not many. It's amazing they achieved what they did with so few big defeats on the way.
