Posting policy - guidelines

Post by Paul Vebber »

This forum, and the other Matrix Games forums are in place for gamers to ask questions of the Matrix staff, and the Matrix staff to provide feedback.

We welcome discussion and debate, but draw the line at "evangelism" for other companies products. Matrix is after all paying to host this. You post here at our discretion. The rules were displayed when you registered.

Recently several "informational" posts about Combat Mission were deleted by me as "off-topic". Most of us at Matrix Games are also involved with www.TheGamers.net support of Combat Mission. We did not fall off the turnip truck last night. We know its out there and many of us are eagerly awaitng its release, if not directly involved in Beta Testing and scenario design.

We are neither "anti-CM" nor "reactionary" SP cave dwellers. We are "pro" our own games and will be glad to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of them as they develop.

CM has its own board at www.battleground.com that is the place for CM discussion. I will continue to keep these forums on topic and will delete what I consider "off topic" after fair warning.

I don't want folks scared to post what "might be" off topic. Post it - if it is, I will reply with a friendly note as I did to the CM poster. If you ignore my guidance, and continue to post off-topic, then I will delete what I feel is inappropriate.

I invite full and open debate about our games, but the focus is to be on our games, not other company's games.

If you feel I am being heavy handed about this, let me know. My goal is to provide a forum where folks can quickly find info about our games, not root through 10,000's of posts on who knows what.

General discussion is invited on www.thegamers.net forums and mailing lists. TGN is in the process of updating the forums there to the same software we are using here and understand Netscape users are unable to use the current software there.

Thank you for your support!
