Bummer about the Matrix server crash. The world will be without my pithy wisdom for 24 hours. How will it get by? [:D]

The server crashed? [:'(]

Looks like the abridgement deleted my admonishing Fodder his pick.  My pithy wisdom said something to the effect of, "I told you that picking the Chefs -2.5 over the Boys would end in tragedy for you, Fodder"  [:'(]

Just sent turn #200 back to The Penguin. Time flies when you're getting your rump kicked.

T, I'm jelous (tm). I can't remember the last turn I managed to get off to Torsten, but I know it was sometime in 2012. [:(]

Hopefully, things will settle into a routine in the near future and we'll be able to pick our game up again.

Faber is a fine opponent. We average about 2.5-3 turns per day. Now that we're in the lull between his first big push and my first big push, the turn around time is quite short.

Being as y'all are only a couple months from the new year, do you still think you'll avoid autovictory? Last you posted your point differential, you were at a >4:1 deficit.

It's still iffy. We're just about to cross into 7/42 and are at about 3.5:1. Depends on the ongoing battle of Koumac, which is turning into our Guadalcanal, and whether or not I can keep from losing more capital ships.

What? You don't think I can come back from a 5:1 deficit? [:D]

Oh, it's possible.

I just wasn't sure how Fabertong and Terminus' game was shaking out and Terminus' thoughts about the status when January 1, 1943 rolls around.

I've worked it out....if you loose 6CV's,4CVL's,6BB's 9CA's and fifty percent of your army commits Seppuku and I lose NOTHING in the next 4 months of play , then we break even. [:D][X(][:D]

You need about 1350 'unanswered' VPs to avoid autovictory by January 1, 1943. Certainly doable.

Whatever you do, don't land a big amphibious assault TF at Truk. That would throw you over the top for sure.

Were you attempting to defend Koumac or retake it? If the former, why did you decide to 'draw the line' there? If the latter, why start a counter-offensive in July 1942?

Now that's a juicy tip I could have used last Wednesday[X(] 1st Marine Division early 50% casualties. Hunkering down until the 6th Marine Division arrives and a couple of army regiments. Thanks CB, thanks a lot.

He took all of New Caledonia back in early April. I retook Noumea in early May and followed his retreating troops north. When I got to Koumac, he had more stuff there than I thought he would, and we've both been feeding reinforcements into it since then. I'm trying to organize a naval blokade to choke off his SLOC to New Caledonia.
