DW blocking mumble's push-to-talk global hotkey?

Post by starmonkey »

Hi Guys,

An odd question - i use mumble for comms with my mates while we play various games.

While DW has focus, it blocks the use of "push to talk" in mumble, meaning I can't talk (but I can hear).

Note that this issue does not occur in other games, DW is the first one I've experienced it in.

If I put DW into the background (tapping the windows key for example), then my push-to-talk works as expected. I've tried different keybindings (ctrl, z) with the same outcome.

Just wondering if this is a known issue, and/or there are ways to prevent this issue from occuring?

Many thanks,
SM

I think the trick is to find a hotkey that the DW game doesn't use. (A tall order!)

Try setting your mumble-talk key to the / or * on the numpad. I was able to use both those keys for starting/pausing my recording with BandiCam so I believe they're available for external apps...

I use an older Logitech Mouse and use Mouse Button 5 as my PTT in Mumble and that works fine.
As well the Mumble Overlay works in DW, but had issues with the TeamSpeak Overlay (never got OcerWolf to work)
