Continuos Air Patrol

Post by George Patton »

It's possible to set continuos air patrol with the mission editor? I mean, when I creat an AAW patrol zone, when the fighters assigned are on Bingo Fuel, we'll have new fighters taking off automatically or not?

Yes, it should work that way when:

- Bingo fuel
- Winchester
- Aircraft is shot down (if the replacement is available/ready)

Yes.

Define the area you want the CAP to patrol using reference points, then create a patrol mission of type AAW using those reference points. The 1/3 rule option should be selected by default, but check that it is. Decide if you want to allow aircraft to leave the patrol area to check out contacts, or attack aircraft identified as hostile, and whether they should have their radars and OECM on. Then assign sufficient aircraft to the desired number of patrol. Generally this should be three times the number you want on station at anyone time.
