Island-Hopping

The US stands ready to grab Ponape and the islands near Truk, as well as to support naval, air, and land operations towards the Marianas.

Australia

The US Navy's light carrier fleet is based here. The Australian Army and air force will be of great use to the American war effort, once it gets to the front lines.

Rabaul

The US has forces ready to conquer Rabaul during the good weather this summer. Unless the Japanese reinforce it, a 5:1 attack against an out-of-supply defender should be obtainable this turn.

Italy

The line the Germans have formed is strong, what with the mountains, but it won't take much to dislodge it, and at the moment they don't have much ability to reinforce it.

The Allies are set up in strength here, and fully intend to take advantage of their massive superiority in materiél, possibly by diverting some of it to southern France or to taking Athens.

The United Kingdom

In the UK, a massive air force and army stands ready to sail or fly across the Channel to begin the arduous process of liberating France.

You can see the fruit of some of the scrapping in the screenshots, especially of the UK: look at those B-29s, sitting looking all super-powerful and stuff.

More to come tomorrow, like screenshots of the Allied reserves and force pools, and their production strategy.

I wouldn't be so quick to cut out S/O 44 from heavy assaults and planning for such. On average, you get more clear weather in S/O than in M/A, at least in the north Temperate. What you get a lot of though is bad weather leading to worse weather, since all the truly terrible results are high rolls.

Hey, the Allies have got 4 objective hexes on their wish list for September/October and November/December, so even if they don't expect to do as well as they did during the summer, they ain't slacking off. [:)]

The Pacific Theatre

Hawai'i
The US fast carrier fleet is based in Honolulu, ready and able to deploy across the Pacific. While its primary purpose early on is to wait for the Japanese fleet to sortie and then attack it, this force stands ready to launch a late-turn raid into Japanese home waters.

Image

You are mislabeling the references on the map Hawai'i is an island in the Hawaiian Islands (covered by your flyout) or as it was called during the World War II era the Hawaiian territory (or as they abbreviated it "HT").

Since you all refuse to answer my questions I have decided to start correcting your mistakes in the AAR's.

Allied Reinforcements & Production

Here are the Allies' reinforcements for July/August 1944.

I may have already mentioned it, but the ships with the "1st" after the year entry underneath are in their first cycle of production. These ships will be transferred to the construction pool.

The ships with the "2nd" after the year entry underneath are in their second cycle of production, and will be placed on the map.

So you can see the US gets one of its heavy carriers on the map next turn, while the CW gets some light carriers in the construction pool.

Allied reinforcements for September/October.

If the game were going on long enough the US would definitely be completing the construction of the CVs Midway and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. 7-class carriers are without peer in any other navy in the world, and the carrier planes that fit on them are equally powerful.

The US and CW are pretty much alone among major powers to have scheduled reinforcements in 1945 at the start of the game.

Here is their reinforcement pool for January/February.

I don't know about the rest of the units here in the repair pool, but the US can probably spare the build points to finish the CV Lexington II.

The Allies' reserve pools are too big to show together.

Here is the US reserve pool. Lots of planes to get on the map.

The Commonwealth reserves. Lots of planes here, too, though not nearly as many as the US.

Force Pools.

The US land-based air force pool.

The land bombers available are actually not all that good - most of the best ones are on the map already. The fighter pool, though, still has many desirable units available.
