World in Flames is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. World In Flames is a highly detailed game covering the both Europe and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. If you want grand strategy this game is for you.

Advertising!?

Post by skrewball »

Hello all,

So I spent some time reading threads on this forum and I never knew that this game was a labor of love by one person (plus additional assistance). An extraordinary accomplishment!

My question is, what is being done to advertise this amazing product? I ask this because I am a YouTube wh0re...I Love watching Let's Plays and tutorials and I notice that Matrix games has close to no representation on Youtube! Some of the most detailed and lovingly crafted war games could be missing a willing audience!

I would never have known about WiF if I had not drunkenly stumbled across this forum 2 years ago. So I was just thinking how could we increase the popularity of this game and Matrix as a whole. I know we can't trick the Call of Duty crowd into enjoying this but I believe there is a large contingent out there who are looking for more from their games!

Has there been any reach to Youtubers? Either PC gamers or board gamers? There are channels that have 10's of 1000s of subscribers that I think would eat this game up! ...Once the learning curve was overcome.

I only found Matrix games by chance, just doing a web search for naval PC wargames, that was 4 or 5 years ago, and I now have over 25 Matrix games in my collection, I also look at lets plays over on youtube, and it is a great means off promoting many off these great games. Watching lets play videos, have influenced me greatly, and I have purchased games because off these videos myself, so Matrix should look to promote more games via this medium.[:)]
Make it so!

Well I am not sure how this works. Would the creators be interested in talking to some youtubers? I am subscribed to a few (who have a hefty subscriber count) who comment and discuss strategy games, popular board games or detailed survival games.

I don't know them personally, but I am sure they would love a "first look" access to a game such as this.

Let me re-iterate. I have no pull, just willing to throw some names out there for Matrix to contact. I have been a member since Uncommon Valor and I just want to see this place grow and succeed more than it has!

You have a job? [:D] The only thing I ever see you doing is patching up my mistakes [&o]

Then again that could be full time employment [:(]

skrewball, I'm pretty sure they'll be looking at that sort of stuff. It does make serious sense. I've made quite a few people interested in MWiF who may never have stumbled across it otherwise. Apart from wargamers, there is many a WW2 freak out there [;)]
