EXCITED

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

EXCITED

Post by Jimbo123 »

Been playing wargames since tactics II and it is rare that a dev team have been so involved with the consumer during the birth of a game. I loved FPG even with its limits. Your releasing the game the day I leave on vaca, but it will be my first post back to real life purchase. I hope your "investment" in time keeping us updated, results in success. Best of luck with your upcoming release!! I have huge confidence this is a game made by wargamers for wargamers. [&o]

Pretty sure I'm coming down with a case of red flu. If these symptoms persist, I may need a sick day come 10/8 [:D]

CM = Combat Mission

CMBB = Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin
CMAK = Combat Mission: Afrika Korps

You remember playing any HSG scenarios for either of those games?

With this game you are gonna need more like a sick week. The symptoms have already been diagnosed as, "Just need to play one more turn!!" [&o]

It's bad...it's REALLY BAD!! [:D]

Who am I to argue with the good doctors orders? I don't want to infect my co-workers ... at least not until I have my copy downloaded. [;)]

The problem with wanting to play just one more turn is that it usually becomes 5-8 more turns. [:D] Well who needs to sleep or work when the game demands my direction.

Was caught up in the CMNAO beta and missed this one - to my regret. Old time wargamer, cut my teeth on PanzerBlitz in the 70's. This looks awesome and I've put an appointment in my work calendar for purchase on 10/8. If only real life can get out of the way - first CW2, then CMNAO and now FPC Red Storm - feels like Christmas...

Germany's unification day was last on Thursday 03.10, would have been a great day for release then I would have had 4 days of testing/playing/working with FCRS. Ok I can wait a few more days, still counting the days though.
Is release GMT time or USA time? [;)]

Being a fan of both WWIII games in general (Air & Armor, World at War, etc.) and the original Flashpoint: Germany I can say that this game is great! It takes things to a new level and provides a very deep Campaign and Multi-Player experience. The WEGO system is probably one of my favourite game mechanics. Having each player phase depending on their current C3 status builds a lot of tension when things get hot and every order seems to be critical.

A word of warning though, don't let those T-80s get too close! At 500m they can transform any of NATOs technological marvels into a flaming roman candle in a matter of moments.

My hat goes off to the developer. Can't wait to download the final version!
