How do I deploy resupply ships?

Hello all
I have built a resupply ship, and sent it to a nice, juicy gas cloud. Upon arrival, I cannot deploy it! I seem to recall reading a thread that discussed a missing component for this ship, but cannot find it. Resupply ships are useless unless they can be deployed, so I am a little annoyed! Thanks in advance!

You need to go into the inner cloud view.
Then you can right click at any location there and select Deploy ....

Clicking the cloud on a far zoomed out view, is the same as clicking a star system. You can't deploy on star systems either, you need to find the gas giant.

What I do is to zoom in properly on the cloud, then click anywhere on it. This selects the cloud, and the right click deploy is no problem after that. Basically, you need to click the cloud inside the gas cloud system.

Also, bear in mind that sometimes it can take a long time for the ship to actually deploy depending on where the ship is relevant to where the game thinks it should be deployed. Once in the position, it will then begin a count-down for actual deployment (which you can see in the status screen).

Indeed. One would think that a gas cloud is a gas cloud, but no. It has to deploy quite some distance away from where it landed...

To speed up deployment:

Once the resupply ships enters the gas cloud, zoom right in close and rightclick->deploy somewhere right beside where the ship is currently located. It will now deploy at that point rather than taking an eternity to find its own spot.

hmmmmm yeah supply ship logic/game mechanics are ripe for some developer attention methinks.
