Selecting strike targets (grouped)

This is still the very first release version. Waiting for the beta patch to be final.

I know of two ways of doing them.
1) Select the group, then Add Mission. Results each individual member of the group is part of the target list.
2) Open Mission Editor, then Create Mission, select the group. Only the Group ID is in the mission.

I believe #1 is the better results as disbanding the group will not matter. Or is #2 also ok?
If it is not ok then maybe using Mission Editor should give you the same result as #1.
