In areas with some cover I'm finding the terrain system of great use with SAM sites, I'll pop up with some fighters and let them fire some sam's, then go back down low and watch the SAMS fly right over head, the radars can't track. I don't know if that's a real world tactic but it sure does deplete those sam sites.

Terrain masking is a very valid tactic. You may not get away with that with some systems though[:)]
