Learning curve

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Learning curve

Post by british exil »

Just how steep will the learning curve be? Are certain basics OOB, how tank warfare works, etc needed?Or is it relatively easy to grasp the basics and then gradually through trail and error learn the deeper aspects of the game? Another question, just how long might another turn take? ( I mean 1 turn)

The learning curve is shallow.

Grasping the basics will be easy. The deeper aspects of the game go on for a good while.

A scenario with few units, a short turn, can take only a few minutes. A scenario with lots of units, a long turn, can take a bit of time to plan out and play. The game comes with both sized scenarios.
