What else can we tell you about the game?

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

This command cycle is shorter. Some of the difference is nationality. Another reason for the difference is the operating command structure for each force.

Good Hunting.

Dale,

I'm sure you will be able to find games on the PBEM++ system too, but hey getting another sale to have a friend works too. [:D]
Hopefully you have a lot of gaming friends.[;)]

PBEM++ is a play by email type system where the game files are held on a Slitherine server. You log in and can create a game or accept a game challenge. When turns are ready you are alerted via email or you can check on the lobby. This system is used by a number of games.

I was a little hesitant in playing on Slitherine PBEM++ system, but I found that it was quite easy to get a game and to play a game. You log on and the game if waiting on you if your opponent has played their turn. You click a button, watch your opponents turn and then issue your orders and then send it back to your opponent. I was quite impressed with how easy it was.

I typically shy away from PBEM, but the Slitherine set up is nice. I've got three PBEM's going right now. Keep checking my email to see if I've received notification that my opponents have played.....[;)]

Well, I convinced my PBEM buddy who swore off gaming a long while back to look at the game and he bought the thing at first glimpse. He is in to the tutorial now and really likes it. Got a convert for you and I will purchase asap. YeeHaw!

Question -- Is there an offline notification when you have a turn waiting? Or do I have to log onto Slitherine every time I want to check?

Thanks. Once I figure this thing out through trial and error (and the Russification of West Germany) I'll jump on the PBEM++!

The PBEM++ on their servers is a great way to play. I have no friends who play these games and can find some games on that system quite often from people here or elsewhere. Good that regular PBEM is in also as those servers wont be around forever!
