Printing out the Special Messages

Post by Temple »

If the information below has been previously posted I apologize for the duplication, but if not, then enjoy!

I just got my copy tonight and was fiddling around with it.I remember someone asking if it was possible to recall the Special Messages during the scenario. Well, I haven't figured that out, but I did figure out how to print out the Special Messages during the scenario.

To print out the Special Messages:

While the dialog box is open, click anywhere in the text just to make sure it is the focused window.

Then do Ctrl-A. This will highlight all the text in the dialog box.

Then right click over the highlighted text. This will bring up several options in a context menu, among them "Print" and "Print Preview". Click on the desired option and proceed from there.

UPDATE: I think I just figured out what that previous posted was asking about, it was the Special Messages, not the Side or Scenario Briefings (the latter two are always available). So the above still applies, and I'll update this post [:)]

If the messages are essential, I just open up NotePad and copy-paste the message in there for referral during the scenario.

I found another one of these ways to copy or print from a dialog box that people might find of interest. I played the Basic Training: Air Ops mission. At the end I got the dialog box with the score and the losses/expenditures. I thought it would be interesting to try to copy the latter, but I couldn't highlight it using Cntl-A. However, if you go to the top menu bar, select "Game" then "Losses + Expenditures" you get that dialog box *and* the text is already highlighted so you can copy and paste it. Again, people might already know about this, but I'm a data nerd and love this stuff [:)]
