On the topic of replacing leaders, does replacing lower level leaders in a un-rebuilt formation have lasting effects when the unit is rebuilt? For example, does replacing a brigade or arty leader in one of the Indian Divisions of III Corps improve the overall performance of the Division when it is rebuilt? Or are the current commander's stats the only factor?

I agree. PH is the single most important US base IMO, at least for two years. I want it to have everything it can to be all it can be.

For me it would have to be either SF or Aukland. I totally bypass Pearl except to operate oilers out of there and to repair ships.

I like Nimitz more than MacArthur, but I don't do the island hopping in part because I have no intention of using A-bombs in this game. Aukland gives quick access to the Coral Sea, which in the first year or two, as you said, is pretty important.

Current stats only of both the leader and unit itself are used.

Of course if in the past a sub unit leader has structurally improved the status of the sub unit (helped to recover disabled devices etc) that status is carried over into the reconstituted unit.

It is however not worthwhile to replace a sub unit leader with an eye towards reconstituting the unit. Replace the sub unit leader because of the current situation, not for the future situation.

Ok Moose, I'll bite! I have enlisted the help of Natasha and Boris to investigate reports of mysterious secret capabilities my leaders may possess!
