Gameplay Options Player 1 and 2

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Gameplay Options Player 1 and 2

Post by FroBodine »

How do you know what side you are playing, when choosing the gameplay options, such as "Enemy units are always visible", or "Allow browsing of spotted units", etc. All of the options.

How can I tell what side I am playing, so I know what sides options I need to check or uncheck?

When you first select to play a scenario it asks you which side you wish to play. Player 1 is always NATO.

Yeah, I made a mistake on this. Playing a scenario as the Russkiis, but I adjusted the settings for Player 1. I had perfect intel on the Americans for a few turns (including receipt of reinforcements). When I finally figured it out, I quickly ended the scenario in frustrations.

Thanks for the explanation. This is something that should definitely be noted in the popup boxes, or somewhere on this screen. How would we know this without asking the developer? And it is kind of important.

This is something to look at in the future. To only be able to select to play a game one way for the scenario designer.

That should be doable.

Good Hunting.

Why is the game referring to "player 1" or "player 2" and not simply NATO or Warsaw pact ?

Other question : who is this damn TOWNSEND ??? Me ?? [:D]

Please let us choose our name in the game setup :-)

nukkxx,

1. Mainly because we plan to expand to other areas down the road, but I guess we could be more clear. Add it to the list.
2. You can change your Command name, force name, and unit badge by clicking on the badge image in the Player tab of the command notebook before you start the fight or at any time really.

Enjoy.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!
