Tutorial Question

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Tutorial Question

Post by xnavytc56 »

Ok, first dumb question in the forum. When I do the tutorial and do the move out, then start the turns, the actions I'm see to do in the turn, do I do them before or after that turn is finished. Example, sixth turn, has in the action move 1st recce south along the river, do I make this movement before the sixth turn or before the seventh. What do I know I'm a bubblehead.

Thanks,

I tried to explain things in a what you do what you see layout. To be honest, it won't effect things to much to change it up and experiment with the various units and orders. That is what the Tutorial scenario is for. It is not a "well balanced" scenario. It was made to show off all of the units and how to use them. Basic, short and sweet.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

RE: Tutorial Question

Some additional...great game and allot of potential!

Questions..In the sub-Unit display:
1. "x Area" mean in armament description?
2. "x AD" mean, also how is the AD range shown?

"Pref standoff" i.e. 2-4 hexes. Is this range unit will fire per posture? What is best way to move units behind enemy lines and hold fire?

Is suppression used in game and how is it shown?

Is there a Hot key to show all units low on ammo?

cheers.

Stand off determines the units posture in Screen. The unit will move to keep that preferred range between it and the closest enemy unit if it can. That is the issue with the Cav units in "A Time To Dance".
Is suppression used in game and how is it shown?

Yes, combat, artillery and airstrikes all reduce the readiness and effectiveness of the units being attacked.
Is there a Hot key to show all units low on ammo?

No. The OOB Tree will give an indication but nothing for the entire OOB.

Good Hunting.
