Question after first tutorial

Post by Brausepaul »

Hi,

I just finished the first tutorial (Alpha Strike out of Fallon) and I have a few questions. Mind you that I run the tutorial to get a grip on the interface, the result wasn't important to me:

1) I setup an AAW mission as suggested in the briefing. My first reference points were set around the enemy air base, but when the flight was underway I thought that it doesn't make any sense to let my fighters pass over the enemy AA. Therefore I created a new set of RPs to the north and assigned them as new RPs for the flight while deleting the old ones. It took quite a while for the flight to react to the new RPs. A single Tomcat loitered around the airbase with the old RPs for quite some time. Why is that? Do I have to do anything else to make reassigning RPs more effective?

2) After some time the map was cluttered with several RPs. Is there an easy way to find out which RPs are in use by a mission and vice versa?

3) One Corsair did the BDA after all the bombs fell, how is determined who assess the damage?

4) Where can I see which exact facilities are the important ones? An airbase consists of radar installations, runways, hangars and so on...what to destroy?

5) The Mk82 bombs didn't hit anything. WHat can I do to enhance the efficency of unguided weapons?

Hi,

1/ You just had to move the existing ones
2/ You could rename the RPs with the r key + When you select a mission in the mission editor and close the window, the mission area will be highlighted
3/ Guess whatever Platform able to do so (considering visibility ; altitude ; distance ; ...)
4/ First those which are able to detect/attack you : Radars ; Sams ; ... then the facilities. Dépends on your mission and your attacking platforms/weapons
5/ Each weapon has its characteristics and drop altitude. Have a look in the database to find the information. (Some platforms/weapons can't be used by night or in bad weather conditions)

Hope this help.

I'd suggest reading AIR TUTORIAL FOR BEGINNERS up in the AAR folder. Really helped me.
