Nothing much comes of the bombing in Poland, though.

The Mongols make for Ulan-Ude. Once there they will probably rail to Chita or elsewhere along the Manchurian frontier.

Taking advantage of the freezing weather, the Red Army crosses over the lake as well as around it to press upon the Finnish army. It also secures the capital of Estonia.

In the central front, the USSR adjusts its lines in preparation to knock out some peripheral forces.

Having set its units up to meet its requirements, and with much of its army pinned by disorganization, the USSR does little movement here.

The USSR launches two attacks, both empowered by Zhukov's offensive, in the south.
The USSR paradrops in the attack in Rumania. The Germans decline to include the notional.

The Germans do send in their bombers in the south (in retrospect maybe I ought not to have done so due to the weather).
The bombers not only get through, they annihilate the Red Army fighter squadron sent up to fight them.

Skipping straight to post land combat. Not at liberty to discuss.
In the north/centre, the USSR easily takes Vitebsk. Its other attack north of the river bend also goes well, but the attack on the far side of the river, while successful in terms of destroying the enemy and gaining ground, hits a hiccup: a Red Army unit is lost and one is also disorganized.

In the south, the extra effort by Zhukov pays off: both attacks end up going well. Zhukov also reorganizes the entire front line.

RE: Decline & Fall AAR v2
Why would a V1 be on the eastern front at this point?

Well, the Germans start with them on the Eastern Front in the setup rules.
At a guess, they haven't been worth enough to rail back to somewhere they can be shot at. Let's face it, the 2 strat factor they have isn't exactly terrifying.
Can you at least tell us why it's confidential?

Correct. The fact that it is now only the second German impulse is also a factor.

I could but then I'd have to kill you. [;)]
There is stuff us beta tester types aren't supposed to discuss in public fora regarding the game. While posting the play-by-play I want to make sure that I stick to those expectations.

Axis Impulse #5
The Axis have to decide what impulses to call.
In Japan's case, either a naval or combined is required, because previous US sub attacks in the bad weather has caused supply problems throughout the empire.
In Germany's case, a land is probably required to deal with the developing situation in the East.
In the end, Germany calls a land impulse and Japan calls a combined one.
Edit: It's worth noting that if Germany and Japan both passed, the turn would have a 10% chance of ending. Which would be awesome, but if they both pass and the turn doesn't end, they are both in very bad position for the next Allied impulse (especially Japan with the army in China out of supply).
