Pathfinding and Movement Impresses Me...

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Pathfinding and Movement Impresses Me...

Post by Grim.Reaper »

Although still early in the game, one thing I have to say is I am very impressed with how movement happens within the game. When you set waypoints and destinations, seems like the game really does a nice job in finding a realistic path to the end point. In a lot of games I scratch my head as to the decisions made while moving, but within this game, I have yet to see a questionable route. Again, still early, but like what I am seeing in this area, since I hate babysitting my units.

This is exactly the type of game I enjoy where I can give general orders and let my competent leaders handle the details...

Rob's coding genius [&o][&o][&o] and the rest of the team being a constant pain in the arse when something didn't look/act right. I'll agree it does a decent job on a number of fronts with what it does and we plan to only make it better as time passes.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

He really did a great job, of course with all your input:) It's nice to tell your units "to go here" and reasonably be assured they will take a good route.
