Additional Equipment Request

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Additional Equipment Request

Post by Hoplite1963 »

Got the game at the weekend and am working my way through the demo and very impressed with the games interface and feel of the game. Truly encyclopaedic equipment coverage as well. However at some point it would be great if the following 2 equipment items could the added to the database for use by the British & Warsaw Pact forces.

Firstly for the RAF the Blackburn Buccaneer strike aircraft. In service throughout the 1980's and still used in the 1st Gulf War and equivalent in many ways to the A6 Intruder. 2 14 plane squadrons of this low level strike aircraft were deployed with RAF Germany with a further 2 being based in the UK. Weapons load was up to 12,000lb including 1,000lb bombs & 68mm rocket pods as well as WE.177 tactical nuclear weapons.

Secondly for the Warsaw Pact Forces the FROG 7, ( "FROG" = free rocket over ground) Soviet designation " 9K52 Luna-M" heavy artillery rocket. Deployed in battalions of 4 singled launcher batteries in Soviet Motor Rifle divisions this unguided rocket carries a 1,000lb HE, chemical or nuclear warhead and had a range of 70km and is considered to be accurate to within 500 meters of its aiming point.

Many thanks

Ian, I apparently left the Buccaneer out. I will work on getting it back in the game. Won't be in the first update, but I will see about getting in the second one. As for other units you want, you can edit the User data files and add anything you want and make a scenario that uses it.

Jim,

I assume if you create a scenario with user modified equipment you will also have to send the unit data and silhouette with the scenario as well?

Al,

The information and sils get packed in the scenario. Just need to send the scenario.
