DB error possibly?

Post by Blu3wolf »

G'day all. wanna say thanks for the sim - so far its looking pretty good, although the documentation is pretty sparse.

also wanted to report a possible DB error. using the SSGN Ohio in the Lightning Strike 2014 scenario, and it has according to the DB, 154 tomahawks on board.

Im pretty sure thats supposed to be 24, not 154?

might make the scenario a bit easier if all I have to do is just launch one subs inventory at the problem and hope it goes away.... although 154 tomahawks. Geez I bet Bill Strannix would be jealous!

decided to fix the error myself. the tomahawks are being removed from the sub.

...via the launch tubes. one at a time.

only 78 tomahawks remaining!

so thats literally 154 cruise missiles?

geez.... thats a lot!

well, my sim hung about 5 minutes from initial impact anyway. it has been doing that a lot, and I know its not a hardware problem...

Well there's no shortage of space back there, after all it used to house 24 Trident D4's

I looked it up, apparently you are quite correct in that it can carry 154 of those suckers...

have to pull the address from my history, but one site reckoned they would carry less as they used some of the space for other stuff.

informationdissemination.net/2007/10/uss-ohio-ssgn-726-begins-first.html

there we go.

another question: how come the KC-10's cannot be readied with a boom?

playing the Lightning strike scenario still...

This one seems to be a bug or database error. I wondered about that myself, then tried to refuel an B-52 anyway. And it worked. The KC-10 with the drogue loadout can refuel B-52s, which shouldn't be working in reality.

Edit: Or maybe it was a KC-135, can't remember exactly. It was a tanker with only drogue loadout listed, however.

ah. should have tried it to see if it worked first. I set the B-2s to be refueled with some nearby KC-135s instead, but the KC-10s would have simplified operations.

in related news, I cant seem to set the desired altitude for any aircraft above 40K ft. tried with the F-22 and the F-16, and I know for a fact one of those can exceed double that...

In the scenario I'm building, the SR-71 seems to go up to more than 20.000m when I keep it at automatic altitude setting. Maybe other planes behave in a similar way.

well, both the platforms I am using for this scenario stay at 40K ft if on automatic scheduling.

I am really yearning for a flight planning tool so I can fine tune exactly what I want prior to takeoff, things like TOT, STPT locations, push times for packages...

seems like the air side of things still needs some work before its perfect!

More likely KC-135 as this drogue attachment gets fitted to the boom and they are single point tankers... KC-10 can have the Flight Refueling Ltd pods on the wings to make them 3 pointers, boom and 2 drogues...

Thanks! The crash-on-impact problem has been fixed in Build 443.

They stay at 40K even when you manually set the desired altitude higher?
