Scroll map to active unit during turn resolution

Post by nukkxx5058 »

The option "Scroll map to active unit during turn resolution" in user references has a problem IMHO.

In fact, you will catch an headache very soon because the map is bouncing right/left/up/down each time a new unit is selected and the action is very difficult to follow. [X(] [X(] [X(]

In fact, the map scroll should occur only when the game selects an off-window unit and not for all units. For example for 2 adjacent units there should be no scroll.

I hope I'm clear enough ? If not, just try to watch a turn resolution with this option activated and you will immediately understand :-)

Nukkxx,

I will put that on the list. We had tried to get that to effect off map units only at one time recently. You can uncheck the option in the FX tab to stop the bounce for now.

would setting the game delay factor to a higher number offset the bouncing effect??

Default Game Delay Factor: This value controls the pacing of the game
during turn resolution. If you find that the resolution is happening too
quickly to follow then use a larger number. If it is too slow then use a
smaller number.

CptHowdy,

Yes the delay setting will slow that bounce down. You can also go the FX tab and unselect "Try to center map on current unit when scrolling during turn res." option.

ahh that's good, ie works like I thought it would. I don't have that option enabled right now but would like it to be. I will play around with the delay and find a setting that works. thanks.
