Unfortunately my printer does not distinguish between different shades of the same color very well....Matching the most prominent colors of the uniforms would be great but I may have to go to more advanced printing techniques to achieve this.

Just read this thread for the first time. Nice going. My first look at the map and then seeing u making a btn lvl game i thot thats gona be alot of counters on that map, but i see to upped it. Have u considered making the cav regiments into bde too?
Still seems alot of counters on that map once the prussians gets there too.

Aurelian, some prussians wore green....[;)] ok, ok it was only the Jãgers and Freiwillinge Jãgers any how i would make a deep blue for their counters. Uniforms being a darker blue than the french.

Kind regards,

Rasmus

Yes ...deeper blue for the Prussians seems like a good choice... my printer might do two colors of blue...I think I have figured out a way...

There are still quite a few counters .....even after I changed from battalion to brigade level....I kind of like having the cavalry strengths spread out into more units for some reason..

The Prussians wore blue though. Prussian blue and French blue were close enough that in the distance you couldn't tell them apart.

http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/4974 ... f-waterloo has a scan of Prussian/Anglo Allied units.

Of course, but that is not much fun on a board game surely. That being the case, grey seems a sensible (if a little ahistorical) compromise to ensure the counters are easily identifiable.

I accept I am probably in a minority, but for me aesthetics plays a big role in whether or not to invest in a game. Bright, colourful and interesting counters are a big part of that consideration.

Edit: can't spell [8|]

Some British Army units wore green too [;)] - the 95th Riflemen for one [&o] - but having the British Army in anything but red? Nooooo!!! Oh the humanity [:D]

Here are the two charts for combat after another round of revision. Also a cell phone shots of the game as it currently looks on the table....wish I had a better camera. For myself the game is finished enough to suit me...Getting the second copy to send out for play testing will take some more work.Mainly I have just quick reference charts for the rules to put together....One problem I have is I do not have a local source for the proper backing material for the counters, hence the thicker foam board counters.

It is great to find someone interested in the game.....I am figuring I should have a copy to you right around the first of the year...Basically what I have right now is what I will be sending you.Rules for the game are just on quick reference charts and tables...Besides a bit of work on the charts all I need is the right cardboard backing for the counters...The thick foam board counters are a little too clumsy to manipulate and they do not stack very good.[8|]
