Game Speed Slowing Down

Post by ArmyVet2004 »

Ok! I've tried everything I could but just not working.

Playing the "Down Town" scenario and just cannot get it to get faster. It starts to get slower and slower to the point where its just not fun.
Same thing with some of the longer scenarios. Its gotten to the point where I'm not having any fun playing the game anymore.

Guess I spent $95 for nothing

I've tried reading up on the performance thread but nothing has worked.

My system is as follows.......

Window 7
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 @ 2.50 GHz
Installed memory: RAM 6.00GB
64 Bit Operating System

I believe the graphics is
Intel(R) G45/G43 Express chipset
Approx Memory 1695MB

If someone can give me a suggestion I'd really appreciate it......

Thanks in advance

I assume you have installed v1.01 and .NET 4.5, correct?

If yes, can you please post a save of the scenario just before it starts slowing down?

Thanks!

This might be completely different, but Dragon Age Origins has a memory leak issue that was never fixed. The longer you played, the slower the game ran. The solution in that game is to quit and reload. Then the game runs normally until the next time you have to do the same. Now, you had to play for about 2 hours before the slowdown became irritating.
I don't know if this quit/reload will help here at all, but I thought I'd mention it.

I'll be interested to know if the quit/reload helps and if so, how long until it becomes unplayable again? For me, an approximate 2 hour time between reloads in DAO was livable.

Hi Sunburn,

I've been playing the scenario (Canary's Cage)the way it is. It seems with build 442 it got a little better. The game speed is tolerable.

The one that is really slow on my system is "Down Town" scenario.......Hopefully build 443 can speed up the Down Town scenario. That scenario is pretty awesome.

Thanks

Sunburn,
Its starting to slow down pretty bad now.
I've attached a copy of my game session playing "Canary's Cage".

DO you always play w/ the Message Log as a separate window? I've read of others'experiences here who suspect that the separate window (for some reason) can really slow the game down.

ExMachina,

I've been also testing it out with the window on and off. It appears somewhat slower with the separate window but I don't think by much.

Sunburn, did you ever get that savegame or what?

A screenshot tells us nothing - the issue is whether the problem can be reproduced on a different machine.

I've not observed this issue in that scenario yet and I'm curious if it was reproducible.
